Elle's POV
"Elle.." A disembodied voice called. I rolled away from where the voice was coming from and pulled my blanket over my head. Next thing I knew, the blanket was yanked off of me.
I groaned and sat up, glaring at my older brother Andrew. "What the hell do you want?"
"It's time for school, bud." He said with a smile, ignoring my early morning attitude. I looked over at the clock and it read 7:34 a.m.
Shit. I thought.
He chuckled and started walking out the door. "Jake is making breakfast for you, he's gonna drop you off."
I jumped out of bed while saying, "Thanks, big brother. Be down in a few."
He nodded once and shut the door, and I went through my dresser in search of the perfect outfit for my first day at McKinley High School. No, I'm not a freshman. I'm a sophomore. But I just recently moved from New York City to Lima, Ohio, since my dad got a better job offer somehow.
And one thing I learned growing up is that first impressions are everything. So I had to something that looked good, but doesn't look like I tried too hard. So I grabbed a red crop top and black high waisted jeans and finished the outfit by putting red and white high top vans. I walked into my bathroom, fixed up my hair and brushed my teeth and then added a bit of makeup.
After I posted a picture of myself on my Instagram, I grabbed my book bag which already had my binders and things prepared and made my way down the stairs.
I saw my brother Jake in the kitchen putting pancakes onto a plate. He looked up and smiled at me. "Mornin' Elle."
"Good morning, Jakey." I said, sitting on the stool that was in front of the kitchen island. "What's on your agenda for today," I asked as he picked up a pancake and put it on a separate plate, handing it to me.
"Well.. I'm dropping you at school.." he passed me a fork and the syrup. "I might pass by the mall for lunch later on."
"Without me?" I rose an eyebrow with my mouth stuffed with pancake. I motioned for him to pass me another.
"You'll be having lunch at school. I'm not too worried about you going hungry." He said sarcastically, dropping the pancake on my plate.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Whatever. Where's dad?"
"He had to drop by the office.. said it was urgent." He told me, grabbing his car keys from the countertop. "Ready, kiddo?"
"Don't call me that." I warned, pointing a finger at him. He chuckled and walked with me to his black suv. He opened the passenger door and let me in. "Why, thank you." I grinned and he rolled his eyes, jogging around the the drivers side. He started the car and took off down the road as I fumbled with the radio.
