Chapter 5: Contact

"Wait, don't take the mirror away," Daniel said, Zack and Eli looked at Daniel in confusion.

"Daniel, I know what we said before but the blonde guy could be dangerous, it's for your safety," Crystal said, she and Vasco were holding Daniel away.

"Ghosts are scary and dangerous," Vasco said as a lone tear ran down his cheek, Jace sighed in the background.

Zoe looked at the mirror that Eli and Zack were wrapping in paper, she saw nothing wrong with it.

Mira and Zoe looked at each other before Mira said, "Zack, I think that the mirror should stay with Daniel."

Zack stopped and looked at the mirror, "You have an institution?"

"It's intuition," Jace corrected, Zack waved him off.

Eli bit his lip as he said, "Well... we could try talking to the blonde... but how can we talk?"

Everyone looked at the mirror then Daniel then Jace.

"Uh... write him a message?" Jace suggested, Zoe got out a piece of paper from one of the notepads Crystal handed her that she kept in her pockets.

Daniel peeked over her shoulder to see what she was writing:

Dear Blonde Spirit,

Nice to meet you, I know this might be obvious but can you see us on your side of the mirror and or hear us?

Are you dangerous? Because we have our ways of disposing of dangerous things, trust me.

Zoe stuck it on the glass face down on the writing part as the friends sat on the floor around the mirror and waited.

Jay realized the mirror on his wall had moved on Daniel's end.

He walked over and saw the note pressed against the glass, reading it though it was reversed writing on his end before tapping on the glass.

Zack and Vasco jumped when they heard the tapping that sounded like water droplets falling into a pond on their end.

Daniel quickly pulled the note off the glass, looking at the blonde on the other end who waved at him.

"C-can you hear me?" Daniel asked, his friends scrambled to the sides of the mirror as the blonde looked around at them before looking at Daniel.

A nod.

Daniel couldn't help the grin pulling on his lips, "Can you see me?"

The blonde shrugged, the answer to that was obvious still Daniel wanted to be sure.

"..."

"You're not dangerous?" Daniel said, the other nodded as everyone looked at Daniel.

"You know what he's saying even though his mouth didn't move?" Zack asked, Daniel shrugged.

"He's pretty expressive," Daniel said, everyone looked back at the blonde who was busy adjusting the chrome hearts rings on his fingers.

"Woah, he's loaded," Eli said, "You can be his sugar baby."

Crystal snickered as Daniel blushed, he glanced at the blonde who he hoped didn't hear Eli's comment.

Zoe asked, "Are you dead?"

Daniel watched the blonde's lips part slowly, "He's not dead, he's alive."

"How can you tell, Daniel?" Jace asked, Daniel looked at him.
