Chapter 7: Kitae
"So you brought Joy into your mess..." Kitae said as he crossed his legs and arms as he looked at Jay with a disapproving look.
Jay sighed and looked away. His brother had come early to his and Joy's surprise.
"Listen brother... mother and father have been wondering what you've been up to lately," Kitae said, his face moved to concern, "And so have I.... first you just decide to leave the family for no reason whatsoever, second you've been living awfully quiet despite the fact that you run multiple companies thanks to father entrusting them to you before you left, third you attend a lowly vocational school and of all departments you join fashion...."
Jay tilted his head as if to say, 'So what's your point?'
Kitae sighed as he uncrossed his arms and legs, "I'm saying you're not serious about your potential, look some universities in America, New York, and even Australia are begging you to enroll. I know that we aren't on good terms, brother, but apply for those universities."
Jay shook his head.
Kitae frowned, "Well I tried to play nice but..."
Kitae pulled out a folder, "Father and I have already applied for those top universities for you already, we're giving you the choice to pick between the top ones..."
Jay glared as Kitae dropped the folder onto his lap, "Don't try to get out of it, Father and I made sure you can't escape. This is for your own good, you're top student in your class, you manage a few successful companies, and those universities are begging for your presence."
Kitae walked out of the living room as Jay stared blankly at the university packets in the folder.
Joy was out during this talk and Kitae had thankfully left for some business but would return soon, leaving Jay alone with his butler.
"Young master..." the man offered as Jay weakly smiled at him before walking up the stairs to his room.
'I'm trapped...' Jay thought as he looked at the folder, 'Even when I'm living on my own, they are always watching...'
Jay sighed as he fell ontop of his bed, tossing the file folder onto the ground, ignoring the scattered papers.
He looked at his mirror, to where Daniel might appear but only saw his reflection.
He was glad that Daniel wasn't reflected in the glass.
He didn't want Daniel to see him like this.
Looking exactly like a chained mute and empty puppet.
----
Daniel had heard a voice, he assumed to was blondie's but this one didn't sound as soothing as he thought it would.
It sounded more hostile and more demanding.
Daniel pursued his lips as he placed his cup of noodles on the table and listened.
He saw from the corner of his eye, two figures.
'Who's with the blonde? His brother?' Daniel questioned.
"Don't try to get out of it, Father and I made sure you can't escape. This is for your own good, you're top student in your class, you manage a few successful companies, and those universities are begging for your presence." the voice from the assumed brother said.
Daniel frowned, 'Are they forcing him to do something? That's so wrong.'
The other silhouette left as Daniel was left with the blonde's for a few moments before the blonde left.
Daniel could see the shoulders slump sadly, he quietly followed as the blonde up the stairs and into his room leaving his food to become cold.
He glanced at the mirror to see the blonde in the most pitiful position, looking drained and depressed.
'This isn't fair, he should be allowed to choose what he wants to be,' Daniel thought, he proceeded to walk over to the blonde's form and wrap his arms around the seemingly empty air.
"Don't allow them to walk over you, come on, fight back, you're your own person and that gives you the right to make your own choices," Daniel said as he held the blonde in his arms.
If Daniel had looked in the mirror, he would've see that the two were glowing faintly blue.
----
Jay was silent, he could definitely feel Daniel on him.
He shifted his gaze down to see arms with a faint blue glow around the holding him tight.
"Don't allow them to walk over you, come on, fight back, you're your own person and that gives you the right to make your own choices," he heard Daniel say in his ear.
Jay looked down at his hands as he clenched and unclenched them.
'I wish I could escape,' Jay thought as he looked over at his bedroom mirror to see to his surprise Daniel's shoulders shaking.
His eyes widened as he felt wetness on his back, knowing what Daniel was doing.
'Is Daniel crying for me?' Jay thought as he heard Daniel's sobs and sniffling, 'He shouldn't.'
Jay quietly reached one of his hands to place it on Daniel's arm.
He could feel the warmth from Daniel as he held onto it gently.
Daniel's quiet and calming sobs along with his warmth oddly felt comforting easing Jay's loneliness and sadness.
'I wish to be with you, whether on your side or you come to my side, I want to be with you,' Jay thought as he allowed his own tears to flow down his cheeks.
Is there a way to escape?
Looking for a way out that never seems to appear,
Chains of faith can only contain and drape,
More and more, they squeeze you tight only bringing fear,
Guess there's no way out after all,
Only forced to walk forward to fate's call.
Blurb End.
