Taehyung watched the girl group perform through the massive screen beside the stage. After learning all their lyrics by heart, describing him as an avid listener was an understatement.

He was basically a fanboy.

Nodding his head to the heavy bass, he got lost in their performance, forgot the fan cameras, and simply enjoyed the up-beat music.

They had an aura like no other. Even while having just debuted with only four members, they commanded the stage and the audience with such intensity that Taehyung couldn't resist moving along with their choreography. Hypnotized by their powerful stage presence, the screams from fans were deafening, and Taehyung wished he could freely be a part of their chaotic chorus.

While singing and dancing to the catchy melody in his seat, Taehyung hadn't realized his eyes always coming back to the raven-haired beauty he met that morning.

Kim Jisoo.

As she was rushing off of the stage, a staff member swiftly touched up Jisoo's makeup. Her heart was pounding so loud she could hear it in her eardrums now that they were offstage. Even with a small number of songs under their belt, Jisoo would always feel a familiar rush of excitement wash over her when performing. The same rush that she felt on their first debut stage.

"Unnie, you did so well today," Jennie praised, grabbing her hand to pull her into an embrace. The younger ones followed her action as they all gathered together in their group hug.

Jisoo felt a tightening in her chest, feeling emotional from thinking about all the times Jennie, Chaeyoung, and Lisa would always compliment her after their performances. They were her family all throughout their trainee years, and the love they gave her was so precious. Jisoo never wanted to lose it.

"I could never do it without you guys," She flashed them a thankful smile and playfully squeezed them in tighter. They groaned out until Jisoo finally released them from her hold with a giggle. Changing out of their stage outfits, Jisoo was the last one of the girls to head back.

As she made her way through the backstage area, Jisoo was curious about the reactions to their performance. She pulled out her phone and opened up her private account:

jennie is no joke, she's so fierce 👏🏼

watching lisa dance is so satisfying i am in LOVE

my queen rosé! she can punch me in the face and i'd say thank you

jisoo is stunning! gg visual of the century!

yg better step up and give my girls more songs 😤😤

Skimming through the words of support and positivity, Jisoo's face fell after reading through a handful of the ones she couldn't avoid. Hate. A majority of which were directed towards her:

jisoo has zero talent. why is she even in blackpink?

their choreography is so easy yet jisoo still blows it

jisoo may have a pretty face but that's all she has

blackhole-jisoo in your area ㅋㅋㅋ

Just like that, Jisoo's confidence in herself began to diminish like the coarse sand inside an hourglass. She never did get used to the hate comments since they debuted.

I'm just not good enough, she thought to herself. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she held them in.

BTS were entering backstage to prepare for their stage when Taehyung saw Jisoo walking in their direction with her head down. Running ahead of the others to bid her a compliment for BLACKPINK's performace, he stood in her line of path until she stopped in front of him and looked up from her phone.

Taehyung was taken aback by the sight of Jisoo's tinted lips turned down into a frown. Instead of seeing her radiant smile and kind eyes, she had on an expression of defeat and sadness. An expression he'd never seen her wear.

Realizing who had stopped her trek, Jisoo immediately rearranged her face into a cheerful one and hit the lock button on her phone to turn off her screen, hiding it behind her back.

"Are you okay?" he asked, worry laced in his tone. He'd never seen the golden girl lose her natural glow before. It was in the one second they locked gazes that he saw the light had faded from her eyes.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Jisoo cocked her head to one side and put on a confused face, quietly thanking YG (for once) for having her take acting classes in the past.

"It's just... Did something happen—" Taehyung began, but the devastation that flashed across Jisoo's face stopped anymore words from spilling from his mouth. He decided it'd be best to refrain from bombarding her with any personal questions, "It's nothing. Never mind,"

"Sorry, but, I've got to get going. The girls are waiting for me," she said quietly.

Taehyung's eyes flickered to Jisoo's fingers as she fiddled with her phone and looked over to the side where the rest of BLACKPINK were waiting.

"Alright, I'll see you around, then,"

She gave him a tight-lipped smile and quickly turned on her heels to scurry away just as the other BTS members caught up to Taehyung. The silver-haired boy watched as her figure zig-zagged through the crowd of staff, questioning her words and unusual behavior.

He shook his head, telling himself that he was overthinking it, "She said she was fine..." He mumbled to himself.

Despite stopping himself from interrogating Jisoo any further, he still couldn't shake her vulnerable expression out of his mind.
