Chapter 6

~2 months later

I woke up to banging on my front door. I roll over and see my clock said 5pm. Who the hell could that be.

“I’m coming. Chill the fuck out.” I screamed while walking down the stairs.

I cracked the door only to be greeted by Ms. Czaja and Mrs. G. The light hurt my eyes and I backed away letting them in.

“Hey guys! What are you doing here? I haven’t seen you in a while.” I tried to say without slurring my words.

They both just looked at me with empathy while they walked over and sat down on my couch.

“Kalliegh do you know what day it is?” Ms. Czaja asked.

“Um… Monday?” I guessed. I honestly had lost track of time. Between the drugs, booze, cutting and bringing home a different girl every week everything had been such a blur.

“Today is Saturday and we haven’t seen you in two months. We were getting worried.” Mrs. G said while scanning my living room probably looking at all of the empty beer bottles.

My place reeked of booze and drugs but that was how I was drowning my sorrows.

“Kalliegh what having you been doing for two months? You better be thankful it was summer break or you would have been arrested for truancy.” Ms. Czaja said.

“I’ve been well relaxing and having fun.” I said while going to the kitchen to grab a bottle of beer.

“Give me that. You are too young to be drinking and you are not allowed to by the judges orders.” Ms. Czaja said while snatching the bottle out of my hand.

I just grunted and said, “Fuck the judge” while walking up the stairs to my room. Unfortunately both of them followed me not wanting to leave me alone and I’m guessing they were very curious to what I had actually been doing.

When they walked my room they gasped at the sight. It was worse than the living room but here there was rolled up dollar bills, baggies of coke and white powder lining the top of my dresser and nightstand.

“Kalliegh. Please tell me you didn’t get into this shit. Weed is one thing but cocaine is highly addictive.” Ms. Czaja asked with pleading eyes.

“Chill out dude. It’s no biggie. I can quit whenever I want.” I said while picking up a baggie and pouring a little onto the counter. I grabbed the credit card on my dresser and put the white power in a line so I could snort it. I could feel myself getting light headed and knew I was in desperate need of more.

I wasn’t looking over at either Ms. Czaja or Mrs. G because I knew they would disapprove of me doing this especially in front of them but I was so low I didn’t have any other options.

I stuck the dollar bill in my nose, lowered it to the neatly lined power and breathed in letting the coke go into my body giving me a sense of relief.

When I looked back up all I could see was the disgust on their faces. I knew I would always be a disappointment to them so what was the use in trying?

“Kalliegh! What has gotten into you?” Ms. Czaja asked while yelling at me.

I just sauntered over to the bed and sat down hoping me seeing them would just go away if I closed my eyes. Unfortunately when I opened them they were still there.

“This has gone too far. You need to go to rehab. Now!” Mrs. G said. I could tell she really wanted the best for me but was at her wits end with what to do.

“Rehab is for quitters. I’m not quitting. I’m just getting started.” I replied.

“Kalliegh we just don’t know what else to do for you. You need to get help. That is apparent but you won’t listen. At this rate you will just kill yourself. It’s just a matter of time. What about your cutting? Have you stopped?” Ms. Czaja asked pleading with me that I had but unfortunately it had just gotten a lot worse.
