Chapter 1 - My New Life
I strolled through the streets of Konoha. It has already been seven years since the night of the massacre that killed my clan. Seven long, painful years that I’d lived through. After I had run away from the massacre, I cut my long, silky hair to my shoulders. Eventually, it grew back, but it only reaches my mid back, only because I kept on cutting it. One of the ANBU spotted me, and escorted me to the Hokage immediately, even though I was covered in blood.
My hands were shaking. I clenched them into fists so hard that I started bleeding, adding to the gory mess that I already was. I really was a sight to see, with my matted hair with some strands that were uneven drenched with sweat, my skin pale as if I had seen a ghost, blue eyes shining with fright, and my clothes covered in blood. My entire clan’s blood.
The Hokage smiled at me warmingly. It looks like that until you see what a jerk he really is. “Who are you child?” he asked.
“My name is Himitsu Chikara. I ran here because my family was killed in Kumo. My mom told me that I would be safe here,” I said. I was lying through my teeth, but the Hokage only looked amused.
“Okay Himitsu, but how did you get past the two chūnin stationed at the main gate to keep intruders out?”
“They were sleeping,” I deadpanned. I checked the main gate before I came here, just in case.
He chuckled, “Knowing them, they probably were.”
I fidgeted uncomfortably underneath the gaze of the Third Hokage. Sweat dripped down me in bullets, and my face was contorting into this weird half-grimace half-anxious, which made me look kind of creepy.
“Would you like to live here?”
I froze. Did I really want to live in the same village that slaughtered my entire clan? Did I have any other choice?
No. I didn’t.
“Yes, I would Hokage-sama. Thank you for allowing me to stay in your humble village.” I tried to keep the sarcasm out of my tone as I spoke. That’s how I got officially registered in my own home. The Hokage told me that he would give me an orphan’s check every week for the necessities to live, and that when I became a ninja I would get my own check for missions.
It wasn’t even debated. It was implied. I had to become a ninja if I wanted to live here.
That wasn’t even the worst part though. My old friends, they treated me like dirt, like I wasn’t worth anything. They all attended my funeral, while I watched from the shadows. They all kept their necklaces.
They all treated me like dirt for the same reason. My personality was exactly the same as ‘Kimura’s’ and my appearance was too much like her too. I guess it was too much for them to handle, so they started bullying me for it.
The one’s that I used to call my dear friends were bullying me.
Look at what the world has come too.
I opened the academy door, and took the first step into the academy only to be greeted by death glares. Even from Shikamaru.
This is my new life. Yay for me.
