Chapter 9 - Team 10

        His eyes were laced with pity, as he saw how much it broke me. “You are to meet them on training ground 10 at 7 a.m. sharp,” the Hokage said.

        “Understood,” I said coldly. My heart hurt. Badly. I found people who had accepted me, only to be shunned into darkness once again. When would this cruelty end? It feels like I’m screaming, but no sound is coming out. It feels like I’m drowning in despair.

        I silently cried as I left, but then the Hokage called me. “Himitsu, before you switch teams, would you like to go on one c-rank mission with your old team?”

        “Huh?” What was with the sudden change of heart? “Okay…”

        “Except, you will leave two days later with Asuma's team. They will be traveling in the same direction on their own c-rank mission.” There it was.

        “Understood.” I ran out of his office, straight to the gate, hoping to catch my old team just before I left. I crashed into someone, and we both cried out ow, me a bit more sarcastic and loud. “Sorry!” I said, as I continued running.

        “What a drag. Watch where you’re going Himitsu!” None other than Shikamaru called out. “Wait…”

        I spoke. I accidentally spoke. Uh oh… I sped off, not waiting to hear his response. Before I left out of his range of sight, I stopped, and ran back. “Don’t tell anyone, ya know!”

        “It would be such a drag to anyways,” he yawned. My expression showed what I couldn’t say. Thank you.

          I ran off again, this time with no interruptions. Just in time too, it seemed, since they left the gate a second before I got there.

        “Wait!” I yelled out, all five turning toward me. A look of recognition was plastered onto the old guy’s face.

        “Himitsu!” Naruto and Sakura called out, Naruto running back to the gate. “Let’s go!” he said. “Can’t. I’ll be there later, okay. Kakashi-sensei will explain everything, right Kakashi-sensei?”

        He seemed to glare at me. “Fine. I didn’t know you were coming.”

        “There was a small change of plans, ya know. I’m coming later. Anyways, bye Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Kakashi-sensei, old guy.”

        Tazuna grew an irk-mark on the side of his head. “The name’s Tazuna!”

        “Well, until you call me Himitsu, I’m not calling you anything else, old guy.” I giggled, a bright, tinkling sound, and then I left.

        “Yes Asuma-sensei?” Ino asked.

        “Tomorrow, we meet at 7 sharp. Don’t be late,” I told all three of my students.

        “Why so early?” Chōji asked, munching on his chips.

        “We’re getting a new team member,” I replied.

        “Who?” Shikamaru asked, seeming a little troubled.

        “She’s a classmate of yours.”

        “Really? Finally! Another girl on the team,” Ino replied enthusiastically.

        “What if it’s Sakura?” Chōji replied.

        Ino went into a state of depression, into her little emo corner. “Is it sensei?”

        “Nope, it’s not. It’s Hi-”

        “Hinata? Great!” Ino cut me off.

        “It’s Himitsu, isn’t it,” Shikamaru stated. Pin drop silence.

        “Yeah,” I replied.

        “That girl?” Ino screeched. “That’s even worse than Sakura!”

        “Really now,” I asked, amused.

        “Yeah,” Ino took on a somber tone. “She reminds all of us as someone we used to know.”

        “Does that really matter?” I asked them. She did look like Kimura, but she was someone else. “It’s not fair to her if you all are mean to her. She has her own personality.”

        Ino didn’t seem like she cared, but it seemed like I struck a chord in Chōji’s heart.

        Shikamaru was silent, but it looked like he knew something that we missed. I narrowed my eyes at him. With his intellect, it wouldn’t be hard to hide something from us, but what?

        The reason I took so long, was because I was contemplating posting some other things, and I need your opinions first. One, I was thinking of posting something I wrote in school. Short, it's just one part. Also, I was thinking about starting just one chapter of another fanfic, about Kushina. I'll have to take down Stones, but it's for a good reason. If all goes according to plan, it'll be on either fanfiction.net or quotev, if there's no other way.
