Chapter 12

Tessa's POV

After seeing that poor faerie's head chopped off, something triggered in my mind. All this nonsense and war had to come to an end, and I would do whatever it takes to get the three other warlocks to join us. Catarina, Ragnor, Magnus and I left after the incident, adding some glamour so the mundanes it the restaurant wouldn't see this horrifying sight. We agreed that Magnus would create the Portal, since he was the most powerful of us. But before leaving, he said he needed to get something for our trip, although I strongly suspect that it was to see Alexander one last time before leaving, in case he doesn't make it back. The journey we were beginning was indeed a very dangerous one; fighting our powerful parents wouldn't be a piece of cake. Since I knew Jem would also be at Magnus', I didn't really mind going. Since Jem stopped being a Silent Brother, we kind of picked up where we left our relationship a few centuries ago. I will always love Will and Jem knows that, but there is still a warm spot in my heart for my lovely Shadowhunter.

After a few minutes of walking, we reached Magnus' apartment. While Catarina and Ragnor waited outside, Magnus and I both took the chance to exchange goodbyes with our lovers. At the moment I crossed the door, I saw Jem waiting for me and jumped into his arms.

"You're really going, huh?" asked Jem as he embraced me into his strong arms.

"Of course I am. I'm going to save the world, remember, love?" I replied, smirking because of my reply.

"Of course, darling, and you're going to be great it," he replied with a smile.

"I love you, James Carstairs," I told him.

"I love you, Theresa Gray. But you'll have to promise me that you will come back," he responded, suddenly getting serious.

"Have a little faith, Jem," I replied with a smirk.

"And now I see where your grand son gets that sarcasm," said Jem before gluing his lips to mine one last time.

Magnus' POV

I saw Tessa jump into James' arms as we both entered my apartment. I smiled to myself as the two lovers tumbled into each others arms, love radiating from their embrace.

I was now seeking my own lover to exchange our goodbyes before my dangerous mission. As I leaned against the wall of my spacious living room, I saw Alec sitting on the couch with Jace and Clary, Isabelle nowhere in sight. Alec and Jace kept on commenting on how nothing in this movie looked real while Clary was trying to defend the mundane movie.

"Come on, Clary, speaking turtles, really?" asked Alec, clearly annoyed and a bit confused.

"Hey, at least they aren't ducks..." said Jace to no one in particular.

"Guys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an awesome movie... How come do you always criticize movies? Don't you have Shadowhunter actors?"

"Actually, we save the world, the real world. We don't create fake ones to look heroic. And, by the way, we don't have too. We look heroic all the time, if you ask me," replied Jace, a smirk tugging on both sides of his mouth.

"Look at you, so full of yourself. You can't even appreciate a single movie," replied Clary.

"And this, young Clary, is why you are completely in love with me. And maybe that six pack of mine doesn't do any harm either," said Jace, before taking Clary into his arms and kissing her.

I saw Alec sigh as his parabatai kissed his girlfriend, which made me happy. I knew he was missing me as much as I was missing him. It was time for my grand arrival.

"Please don't make children on my couch, you horny teenagers," I told the young couple as I entered the room.

Clary blushed so hard that her cheeks' colour was in serious competition with her hair's while Jace just laughed silently, pulling Clary on his lap. As Alec saw me enter the room, he smiled even brighter. I was happy to see that he was quickly recovering from his almost fatal wound. Of course, he couldn't jump in my arms like Tessa did with James. So I rushed to his side and literally jumped on top of him, crashing my lips to his.
