Chapter 9 - The Calling (Completed)

Monday at midnight, I had a headache. I couldn't sleep at all. There was a thing happening in my head it hurt so much I couldn't do anything at all. It didn't feel like Minus as well cuz if it was him, it'd be instant. But it lasted all night. All I could ever hear was a painful sound, like, when you slide two metals each other? But more painful.

At 7:00 AM Tuesday, I go to Star's dorm and I knocked on his door, looking haggard and tired.

"*yawn* Hey.. Why so early? What's going on?.." Star said to me as he yawns. He was half naked and he had a towel around the lower part of his body.

Did he just come from a shower? No he can't be. He looks he came from bed.

"Hey what's happening..?" Quaza woke up rubbing his eyes. He probably was also naked under that blanket.

Maybe something happened between these two last night. Not going to ask though.

"So what brought you here?" Star asked me.

"uhh do you have anything that can heal intense headaches? I couldn't sleep last night.." I replied to him with a tired voice.

"Oh we don't have any.. Uh. The garden above us are medical herbs though. Lation put tags on the plants and what they can do. Don't pick too much though, he'll get angry." He explained.

"Oh thanks." I said to him as I go.

I go to the garden and I see Lation picking up herbs too.

This is a fairly large garden.

I let Lation do his business while I go find the herb I need.

I wander around for minutes, reading and knowing all the plants in the garden.

"Tsa-ah, a herbal plant you put in hot water for 5 minutes. Once the water goes green, drink the whole cup, and avoid contact with cold air for 10 minutes. This Herb can calm, reduce headaches, and heal dizziness." As I read it.

Looks like this is what I'm looking for.
I snap a branch out and I stand up.

Lation walks by and sees me.
He stared at me with a disappointed sigh.

Wait.. was I supposed to snap off a branch? Oh shoot..

Oh well, I guess it can't be helped now.

I go down to my room and I do what it said, I drank the tea and I sleep.

That thing.. it's happening again.. it's.. "Come.." A loud and painful echoing voice.. again. like a broken microphone.. The tea wasn't working at all.

"AAAGH!!!" I screamed in agony and pain.

Sluxy heard me from next door and she opened the door, and as she did, my eyes closed and I fainted.

"Hey Melt.. Wake up.. Melt.. Hey.." am echoing voice said out loud.

I opened my eyes slowly and then I see Sluxy up near my face.

"Melty! You woke up!" She said while she smiled.

We awkwardly stared at each other for a minute.

"W-where am I?.." I asked just to break the awkwardness between us.

"You're in the clinic." A voice answered the question for Sluxy.

I look at my left side and I see Mr. Noah. He's a patient too. What happened to him?

"You had that headache too, right?" He suddenly asks me.

"Y-yeah. Do you know something about it?.." I asked back.

"It's the Mage. He's calling us through universal telepathy. It's usually very fast and simple to receive, but looks like something's wrong." He explains.

"Do you have any connection with The Mage?" I ask him again.

"Yeah. I work for him." He said.

huh

The noise is back

Our heads are starting to ache again

"Aghh!!"
"OH SHI-"
We both screamed from the pain as the telepathy comes back again.

"G-guys? HELP!" Sluxy shouted out.

then suddenly..

"Ok test.. test.. can you hear me? test.. test test test test test test" An echoing voice from an old man suddenly talks in my head.

"Ok Mage, we hear you, stop already"..
Noah talks to him through his... mind?

"Oh ok good.. How bout you little boy?" The old man asks me.

"Y-yeah?" WOAH I CAN TALK THROUGH TELEPATHY.

"What happened to your telepathy? It gave us headaches since last night."
Noah asks the Mage.

"Well uh you see, The little boy's demon sees the silver line. The silver line is an imaginary line that connects every single living organisms in the universe, or you could say it's just an imaginary telephone line of the mind.
And The boy's demon, started to play with it, and interfered the signal."
He explains.

So that's why he's awfully quiet last night.

"Wait.. how.. do you know about my Demon?.." I asked him because my demon was supposed to be a secret.

"... Should we tell him?" Noah asked the Mage like it's some sort of secret.

"Yes. He's the first to unlock it. That's why he's included in this call anyway.

Melt. Every human being has their own demons.. But no one has ever unlocked it's true capabilities. Your Demons are yourself, but it's not you.
It's a kind of a "living personality".
And your Demons have powers and abilities you and others don't have..
For the last 5000 years no one has ever unlocked their demons because their souls are tightly "chained" to their body and mind, and cannot escape, the last people who used them were cavemen, but then in this generation, a beginning will occur. Few individuals in the whole entire solar system were found to have "loose chains" in their soul, meaning that they could unlock their demons any time. Most of those individuals are teenagers, and some are kids.
11 of the loose chained teenagers are in this school. And  there's still more scattered around the solar system. Mr. Noah has been trying to gather those people so they can be safe. You Melty, are the first one to have unlocked a demon in 5000 years." The Mage explains. there's still questions flowing through my mind right now but there is one thing I wanna ask first.

"Why does Mr. Noah try to gather the people with Demons?" I'm curious
cuz I think this is kidnapping.

"..I've had a vision. An army of Demons was forced to bowed down
to an entity, and after that, 2 planets became one, and all were ruled by him." He explains.

...

"Oh that reminds me, Melt. Since you're the beginning of the new generation, can you and your classmates help us gather all of them?.." He suddenly asked.

"Eh?".
