Chapter 28 - Emotions Everywhere

No sooner did she manage a slight smile, she was pulled into a bone-crushing hug by her little sister.

"Di, I'm so glad that you are alright! I can't believe you took such a risk for me?"

"Swa-"

"I never wanted this to happen to you. That drink was for me. You did it to save me, didn't you? How could you do something so risky like that?! Look at yourself! You could have died."

"Swara, I wa-"

"How could you?! And now you're liking at me with an irritated face like I'm the one at wrong?! It's you who were wrecklss. How can you now not answer me huh?! Answer me why you acted so wreckless?!"

Samay hit her on the back of her head. "Did you ever think that maybe it's you who's not giving her a chance to speak? Idiot."

Swara glared at him, but shut up. She looked back at Ragini when she felt her hand on her head.

"Swara, I couldn't let anything happen to you. You're my little sister. It's my responsibility to protect you. So I did the only thing that came to my mind."

"There were other ways Ragini. You didn't have to drink it. You could have just thrown it away." Samay commented, coming around the bed to sit beside Ragini. "Ah shit! You really gave us one heck of a scare."

Ragini blinked in amazement. For Samay to cuss openly in front of her, he really must have been worried a lot. She tried to smile for him and hugged him with one hand. "You're right , my smart cousin. But Kriti would be blamed then. I didn't want her to go to jail. And I know she could never do something like that!"

"Then I guess you risked your life for nothing." Swara spoke in regret. "Sh-"

Samay glared at Swara. "Now's not the time to give her stress."

"Stress?! Tell me the truth." Ragini looked at Swara pointedly. "What do you mean?"

"Di, Kriti...Kriti has been arrested."

Ragini gasped on hearing the news. "No! No no no. She's innocent. She would never do something like that!"

"We know. But the police want concrete proof." Samay reasoned.

"But we have to help her!"

"Ragini! Calm down, alright? We will save Kriti. And as for her father, he will believe her if he really cares for her. If he doesn't, then its no use caring about such a father. We will save Kriti. But until we find proof against the real culprit, we can't do anything." Samay re-assured.

Ragini wanted to shout out that she had a doubt on Mansi. But she wanted to be sure before saying anything. One wrong step of hers could give the real culprit enough time to escape. Besides, she wasn't sure if it was really Mansi. 'After all, there is no way Mansi would go to that extent to kill Swara. There isn't any reason for Mansi to try to kill her. If it was me, I could understand. But what did Swara do to piss her off that much? Nothing! I must be sure before accusing Mansi, or she might get trapped like Kriti.'

It was so like her to always think of the good in others. Only if she knew the real truth behind Mansi.

"Ragini, how do you feel now?"
