Chapter 4

My eyes landed on a man who looked to be in his mid-twenties. He had black hair and ice blue eyes that were staring defensively at me. But in my animalistic state, his looks did nothing to affect my behavior-- not that they would anyway, I haven't looked at anyone that way since Emil.

"You were interrupting, asshole. Leave. Now." I growled, crouching in front of where my meal lie, who was still staring dazedly at nothing in particular.

He let out a low chuckle. "No, I don't think I will." My god, he had a nice voice... Jesus! Celina stop being such a slut. I thought, mentally slapping myself. I really need to stop clubbing with those fake human whores...

As I was mentally talking to myself, the guy tried to make a grab for me, with such speed, that if I hadn't just had blood, I might not have been able to dodge in time while distracted. I ducked under his arm that came racing at me, and sprinted the few steps to stand behind him and put my mouth to his neck. I was fast, even for a vampire, and he clearly wasn't expecting me to be able to dodge him. Cocky bastard.

His breath caught when he felt my razor sharp fangs against his pale skin.

"I believe I told you to do something," I whispered against the skin on his neck. I could practically see the gears spinning in his head, scheming.

"And I believe I said 'No', sweetheart." He said with venom in his voice. He swept his leg around mine and knocked me flat on the ground. Before I could get up, he was on me, straddling my waist and pinning down my arms at my side.

I growled, a vicious sound, and saw the guy flinch. I smirked wryly, but made no move to get up.

"Did you want something?" I asked sarcastically after a few seconds of silence.

"Yeah actually, you're on my coven's territory. Leave now, die, or try to join us. Got it?" He threatened, pushing my body harder onto the ground, trying to demonstrate that he had the upper hand in the situation.

"Like Hell I will." I spat at him, finally making my move to get this bastard off me. I pushed my arms so suddenly that I freed them of his hold. I swung one arm and elbowed him in the stomach with such force he slammed into the wall of the building behind him. I dragged him up by his collar and slammed him against the wall. I braced my arm against his neck, and pushed my body against his in restraint.

"That's bullshit. I've been here for about 2 months and there never once was a coven in this territory. Now start talking or I won't hesitate rip your head clean off. Got it?" I asked mocking him.

"My names Ace. Anja's coven - which I am third in command to - recently have claimed this city as our own. We ... Retired the few rogues we found in the territory. The humans, as always, are oblivious to anything supernatural. But about the rogues... If you've been here so long, how did we not find you when we scoured the city?" Ace said.

I had never heard of Anja, but her name still rung with power, like the Ancient Ones I still held respect for. But it bothered me that he believed all the rogues were so easily killed.

"I am Celina Nox, former second in command in Favian's clan. I am presently a rogue in this area, I've made excellent cover for myself, and so I believe you will not have to 'force' me to leave. As for why you did not find me, I am probably hundreds of years older then you are, I've learned a few things here and there in the matter of staying under cover. Oh, and I would like to meet this Anja, if you don't mind, Ace." I said coolly.

-Ace Fortem-

I felt my eyes went wide. So this was Celina. I had talked to Favian before, and he was sad to see that his most promising 'daughter' had left his clan, for unknown reasons. I had heard stories about her. She was a very powerful vampire. Even if she wasn't an Ancient One, she was very old. She had seen things, done things, all through time. To me, who has only been a vampire for 55 years more then I appeared to be, this was pretty old.

But in all the great things he'd heard about Celina, two things never came up. One being her looks. I mean seriously! She was beautiful. Her eyes, which the red had faded from while they talked, were grey. The rims were dark grey, while they faded to an almost white color towards the center. She had dark, almost black hair that hung down to her small waist. She looked about 5'6", not too short. The way she talked and carried herself made you want to respect her, because she radiated power.

The second thing that was never brought up was why she left one of the most powerful and influential clans in the vampire world to become a rogue three years ago...

It was like she hiding herself from everyone in her life. But I won't let it stay that way. I'll see what she's hiding from everyone, or why she's scared to face them. But I doubt the Celina Nox that I had heard so much about would be scared of much of anything. So I'll find out what went wrong in her life, because why else would she throw away a life like that? I needed to know why she disappeared from vampire society...

I started planning, but it was hard concentrating with her lean body flush with mine. As if she knew this she smirked and shrugged away from me and held out her hand.

"Come on asshole, I believe you're taking me to see you're first in command." She called.
