- Avenge Me -

Chapter 3

The girls and I slowly made our way up to the bar, making eye contact with every attractive guy in the club. As we sat down people approached, offering to buy us drinks.

A slow burn began to grow in my throat and I realized I wouldn’t be able to play the part of young party girl until I got some blood in my system. I scanned the room for suitable candidates when my gaze caught on a particular young man who had a head of light brown hair and a body with obvious muscles, the outline of which showed through his tee shirt. His eyes were brown and he had a cocky grin plastered on his face, which widened when he saw me eyeing him.

"Hey baby, what do you want to drink?" He asked, throwing of as much charm as possible. He's gorgeous for a human, I thought. Not as gorgeous as --No, I'm not thinking about him-- but still pretty stunning. But that didn't matter. I was thirsty.

"Bloody Mary," I replied, returning his flirtatious smile. The bartender, who was watching me the whole time handed the drink to me, along with a slip of paper with his number on it. I discarded the paper and downed the drink while the young man paid. I would need alcohol in my system for this acting that I should win a grammy for, even if it wasn’t strong enough for my heightened vampiric system. I stood up and slowly walked closer to him, making sure to sway my hips in a way that would make me look like I was trying. I ran a hand up his well-defined arm, and leaned in so I could whisper in his ear. "Want to dance?”

He stared down hungrily at me, and nodded. I flashed a triumphant grin, and tugged his hand, leading them to the dance floor. This would really be too easy, thanks to raging hormones, I wouldn't even need to break out my grade-A acting skills.

The song pounded into our ears, and I let the music flow through my body, moving to the beat. The man, who hadn't even given me his name yet, had his eyes wandering down to where my short black dress had ridden up a bit, showing off my legs even more.

"Names Corbin, by the way," he said to me as he pulled me towards him, speaking into my ear in a way that was clearly supposed to seem irresistible.

"Celina" I replied. My body was now flush with his, and by the way his body reacted, Corbin didn't seem to mind.

Corbin

"Celina," the dark haired girl replied, as she started grinding her body against me. Oh my god, I met this girl five minutes ago, and she's already got me thinking about her in ways that shouldn't be shared with the public. Well she is beautiful. Her black hair looked so soft, and her body was perfect. She knew exactly what she was doing.

I ran my hands from her waist down to her hips and pulled her even closer to me, as we danced together. If she kept this up I was going to need to take her lovely ass home with me. I mean, damn, she brought a whole new meaning to the term "hot". Her icy skin burned at my hands where I touched her.

Seemingly by themselves, my hands roamed downwards again, and stopped where her short black dress stopped and her smooth slightly tanned skin started. I knew she felt my body wanting her a while ago, but if it was possible she was turning me on even more.

Suddenly she lifted her head, a hungry look in her eyes. With one hand snaking around my neck, she brought my head down to her level. Just as our lips were about to touch, Celina spoke.

"Let's take this somewhere more... Private" she said seductively. Nodding, I followed her out of the club. She was leading me down the dark streets, when she stopped walking and slammed me against the wall of a building. Shock crossed my mind before I dismissed it as her wanting me, I mean hell yeah I can’t believe this night is going so well already. Something itched in the back of my mind telling me to get out of here, but it could easily be ignored with her dress clinging to her body like that.

I thought she just couldn't resist me anymore and stopped to hook up here, but then I saw her eyes.

             They were blood red.

My eyes were blood red, I could feel it, and I stared at Corbin hungrily. It wasn't a look he had ever seen on a human being. It was something you saw on animals, predators stalking their prey. But little did Corbin know, I wasn't human, I was a predator, and he had just been lured into my trap.

I stared into Corbin's wide eyes.

"You are not afraid of me," I said.

Something overcame Corbin and the only thing he was able to focus on was my strong voice. It was the only thing he could think about, of course he would do what I asked.

"I am not afraid of you," he repeated. I smiled, not breaking eye contact; I knew he had just fallen deeper into the trap.

"This will only be difficult-- for you-- if you make it," I said.

"I won't make this difficult." Corbin said, still under my spell. But it was no spell; it was called compulsion. And I had mastered it in all the years I'd been a vampire.

"You won't yell or attract any sort of attention this way."

"I won't attract attention." Corbin repeated.

             "You'll let me hurt you."

"I'll let you hurt me," Corbin said, in a trance.

I smiled slowly, showing off my teeth. Before Corbin's eyes, my canines grew longer and sharper, forming small fangs. But they were still deadly sharp, no matter the size.

"Good boy" I whispered, leaning in slowly, before I dug my teeth into his flesh. I knew that sharp pain coursed through Corbin's body for a moment, but still under the compulsion, he didn't scream or jerk around. He let me keep drinking his blood until the pain went away. Now all that was left was a numb feeling that was spreading through his body as I continued to suck at his neck.

Corbin was starting to feel dizzy, but he still didn't move or make a sound, he just stood there like a statue. I kept drinking until I was ripped from the human’s neck and nearly stumbled to the ground before my heightened reflexes kept me stable.

I let out an animalistic snarl, and the human’s weak and nearly drained body crumpled to the ground. Whoever this is, I thought, snuck up on me. There was no heartbeat, nor footsteps approaching me.

I stood facing off with another of my kind: another heartless vampire.
