Present day
Cassia's POV
"Are we almost there?" I asked for probably the tenth time since we left the airport.
"Just about ten more minutes Miss Cassia." The driver told me.
I sighed and leaned back in my seat and looked out the window at the familiar countryside. Ten more minutes until I would finally be back in the place I have missed so much for the past four years.
My parents and I were finally moving back to North America and I could not be more ecstatic. Europe was amazing, but it was never home.
A lot has changed over the last four years. I just turned 21 and have sadly still not found my mate. I thought I would find him in Europe, since it seemed like fate that my parents were sent there, but I guess not. I also studied the history of the werewolf world for the last 2 years and am just about ready to take the test to become a certified historian.
I cannot wait to see Lili again. We talked almost every day when I was gone. On her 18th birthday Lili found out that her mate is none other than Aaron, future Beta and her brothers' best friend. From what I've heard it has been nothing but happiness for those two. I can't wait to give them both a huge hug.
As for Alexander, I haven't talked to or made any form of contact with him since the brief glance we shared when I left for Europe. From what Lili has told me is sounds like not much has changed. He is however about to officially become King in two weeks.
That is the reason why I am finally home, well among other things as well.
And Eric has completed his head warrior training and will officially take over once Alexander is King. He also still hasn't met his mate, but does not seem as worried about the matter as I am.
"Cassia, are you going to get out?" My dad asked popping his head into the now stopped car.
I jumped out of the car without another thought and there in front of me stood the castle that is my home.
I began to grab by bags from the driver.
"CASS"
I spun around to see Lili barreling towards me.
"LILI" I exclaimed as I was engulfed in a hug.
"I missed you so much." We said in unison.
I grabbed my bag and walked arm in arm with Lili up the palace steps where her parents were standing. My mother and Queen Sarah were embracing each other and my father and King Benjamin were shaking hands.
"Look at you Cassia! You've grown since I last saw you. How was Europe?" Sarah said as she pulled me into a hug.
"It was uh great. But I missed home every day." I said pulling away.
"Well you should all know I have planned a small gathering tonight in honour of your return." Sarah explained to my family.
"Oh please mum. She means a large party, more like a ball. She practically invited to entire pack." Lili exclaimed.
"Oh Sarah you didn't need go to all that trouble." Mom said
"Nonsense. My oldest friend and her family need to be welcomed home properly. We all missed you greatly."
"And of course to welcome back our head warrior." Benjamin said patting my dad on the back.
All of a sudden two hands covered my eyes. It didn't take long for me to spin around and be pulled into the arms of my brother. Being away from the pack for so long I had almost forgotten his scent, but as soon as he was behind me it all came back. His arms felt so familiar and I didn't realize just how much I missed him until now. Of course while we were gone he came to visit a few times, but it had almost been a year since I last saw him.
