Something in the air

There s some music in the background, only its rhythm is clear, the worlds are not. Its slow and beautiful.
-This is nice. Some peace. Quiet. Only you. And me. Dancing to the music.

Carol stands with her hands on the hand and shoulder of another. Sight only focussed on their chest. She is wearing a white dress.
The other is not clear, their face is blurry. Their outfit, a black tuxedo on a female body. Their hands are black skinned. Same position but reverse to Carol's.
-Im trully loving this. But it just doesnt feel right. How are we here? Why are we dressed like this? Who are you? Maria?-
She tried to look up and find their face, but a white light shone bright and stopped it all.

-Morning sleeping beauty! How you feeling today?-
Valkyrie has awoken her. She was now back on the real world.
-Wai...wha?
-Oh I see. Your brain takes some time to turn on again. You fainted about 4 days ago and I took you here to let you kree brazalet heal you. I ll go make breakfast with whatever you have here.
-Ok...Wow. Thank you.-
Valkyrie left her side by the coach and went to the kitchen. Carol sat down slowly so as not to hurt her back, but in the process moved her sheets and they knocked over a green vase that decorated the coffee table. She rushed to grab it and caught it in mid air. Valkyrie, who was coming out of the kitchen to bring the breakfast, saw it all happen.
-Wow C! That reflex was amazing!

After enjoying her success, she noticed she had just moved without feeling any pain.

She got up and walked towards the balcony. Once there, she looked at her right fist, close her eyes, tried to focus her energy there, and pointed it to a signal in the street.
-Nothing. Im empty.

-Dont be. This isnt your fault. Hell. You are the one who help me recover and pretty much stay alive.
-Well, I wasnt going to let death take such a pretty girl. (laughing nervously) Powerful girl.

Carol did not reply, but her cheeks did glow red.
They ate the breakfast back on the coffee table and kept on talking.
-Aaaanyway, you have to train C. Someone has to stop the Moranns. We both know they are coming.-
-Yes. Yes. The Moranns...-
She started to shake.
-No no no. Calm down. Dont do this again. Im sure some training will boost your confidence.-
Carol seemed to relaxed a little.
-Ha, training. Between the US Air Force and Yon Rogg I think Im more than capable of a decent close combat fighting and survival.
-Says the girl who got kidnapped and almost killed by only one Morann.
-She is the second best of them! I had no powers and still managed to get out alive.
-Yes, barely. Im going to train you no matter what you say.
-Sure. The last Valkyrie will. I mean, non of this would have happened if you had just appeared when the Moranns first attacked Tabda.

And so the two women got up and left the room towards the hotel gym (a big rectangular space with some weapons, as training ment fighting for Tabdarians, something the ancestors did). Oncr there, they got to choose their weapons.
-So tell me, which one will you choose? Lady's first.
-We are both ladies. Lets choose at the same time.-
Valkyrie found 2 sais (daggers), and Carol, not used to armed combat, just chose a long sword, its blade shone.
-Ready C?
-Hell yes! Lets do this!-
There was a rectangule divided in two on the floor, marked in some paint. One took the first space and the otherone waited on the other.
-So now what? Werent we going yo fight one another?
-Oh C. So much time her on Tabda and you dont know how it works. You see those holes on the ground?
-Yes. Why are you mentioning them?
-From there moving objects will jump out, and you will need to hit them before balloons with water hit you.
-Back on Hala with the Kree empire I used to do the same but with holograms. And no water, only lasers. This is gonna be a piece of cake.
-Sure thing space girl. Then you want difficulty level...
-The higher the better. Lets do this!-
So Valk put the machine at level 5 (max.) and soon enough there were loads of metal like figures coming from the ground.
-(paithing and slashing anything that moved next to her) Im awsome at this. I ve already hit 20!-
Valkyrie was impressed about how quicky Carol moved, and in that training suit, she look stunning: her muscles were quite notoruious. Only one sound took her away from admiring her.
SPLASH!
A water ballon hit Carol on the back of her head. Water started running down her neck. Valkirie snapped out her thoughts and started laughting.
-Whahaha! You forgot about the balloons!
-Well, heat was starting to get to me. Now Im better.
-Sure thing...-
Carol kept on hiting the rising objects around her, and now also dodging the balloons. Finally the time ran out.
-Your 5 minutes are out! You got 254. Minus three balloons, its ten each, so 224.
-Sure, what ever. Now s your turn. Show me what an Asgardian can do.-
Valk swapted places with Carol (who was quite sweaty and tired) and soon the objects began to rise.
-Slice. Stab. Slice. This is child's play. No sweat at all.
-Oh, I put it on level 2. Lets see what level 5 does.
-Yes! Keep 'em coming!-
Now that the objects were moving faster, and the water balloons coming from everywhere. About three minutes later, Valkyrie started having some trouble keeping up. Paithing and sweating were now her reality.
-You okay there Valk? Dont overwhelm yourself and just give up! Im Captain Marvel, loosing to me is normal.
-Never! Raggghh!!!-
She slashed the last standing object, and proceeded to pose like a ninja, with a smirk on her face, facing Carol.
-Done! I win by 233 to 224.
-Congrats. Oh wait, there s one there! Behing you!-
Valkyrie turned around to find nothing at all.
SPLASH!
A balloon hit her on the back and she was all covered in water now.
-Oh look! Minus 10 points! Its 223. I win by one.
-Not fair! You distracted me!
-Did I?
-(grunts) Oh you!!-
She ran towards Carol (who was too busy laughting to notice Valkyrie incoming) and knocked her to the ground, dagger over her throat.
-Now who wins?-
Instead of answering, Carol just grabbed Valkyries left arm, made it spin, grabbed the right one, mada it turn an now thwy had swapped possitions, Carol up holding Valk to the ground, chest facing it.
-(smirking) Two can play that game!
-Fine. You win.-
Valk turned around to find her face about 15 cm appart from Carol's. Her eyes were shining like the stars with glory for wining the bet. They were dreamy. And Valkyrie's dark brown eyes seemed to turn lighter. Both women's cheeks turned a shade of red. It was quite a moment. None of them could move. It was just so perfect. So...
-Excuse me misses, but the gym is closed at luch hours. I will need you to leave.-
Startled by the hotel assitant's entrance, Carol jumped off Valkyrie, who got up as soon as thay happened. She was the first to talk.
-Ergh. Yes! Yes. We are leaving now.
-Thank you. I ll be open again in three hours if you need it or whatever...
-Thanks but we ll be fine.-
The assitant left and Carol and Valkyrie look at one another, cheeks burning red.
-(Carol) Well, that was akward. Lets leave.
Carol grabbed her water bottle and towel and started heading for the gym's door.
-(Valk, in a quiet) Yeah...next time lets stay at your room.
- Uhm? Did you say sth V?
-Nope.
-Ok...Im gonna shower now. You using the gyms showers right?
-Yeah yeah. I...
-On your left, going out.
-Ahn! There it is.
-Come to the room. Ill give you withever cloth the hotel and Tabdarian fans have gave me. I m sure at least one will fit you.

After doing so, each one bathed and later went to have a snack.
