My best friend has some of the strictest parents I've ever heard about.
They won't let her walk to the end of the fucking driveway without an adult. Her mother has to read books that she wants to read to make sure they're "okay".

That's just messed up, because what if something bad happens at school or on the way home?

"Yes. But I couldn't tell you because I don't have a phone to call you."
I'm not even exaggerating. Our buses crash and break down all the time.
I just want to whack her parents with a chair. How is she going to get educated about the world if she can't even go see it????
