Y/n woke up in the middle of the night. She was in an unfamiliar room. A silhouette of a man was in front of her, perfectly illuminated by the moonlight. Someone dear to her. She expected herself to jump happily and cry tears of joy when he came back but, everything just happened so suddenly. It was so unexpected that she didn't know what to do anymore. They just stared at each other for a while before Y/n quickly got out of her bed and hugged him tight.
Y/n: Please tell me that it's really you.
Kai: I'm sorry.
Y/n: What for? *gasps* did you let jimin do something to me?!
Kai: You're okay? How come you recover from traumatizing stuff like that so easily?
He said chuckling as he lets go of the hug.
I don't recover really quick, It's just that I don't want you to see my weak self.
Y/n: You have no idea what I've been through these days. My dream came true.
Kai: Really? Which one? you have many dreams.
Y/n: They're real! Shapeshifters are real! Just like how grandma told us back then!
kai: oh... I see
Y/n could see the change in his expression. Right now she didn't care about what happened last night. Right now, she just wanted to catch up with her best friend who she lost for years but she felt like the Kai here isn't the kai she knew.
Y/n: Kai, Hueningkai. Why are you so weird?
Kai: I'm sorry. That I came so suddenly. I'm sorry that I left you back then. And I know you won't forgive me but I have to tell you.
I know shapeshifters exist and I'm a shapeshifter myself.
She felt like she just wanna faint again and never wake up. If she was gonna meet him like this then she preffered if they didn't meet at all.
Y/n: Not..you..too.
She smiled bitterly as if she expected it but still got disappointed.
Y/n: Why did you came back then? Were you some superhero that heard my call?
Kai: I'm sorry. I did it to protect you.
Y/n: Protect me from what?!
Kai: I'll explain later. For now, calm down and rest.
Y/n: Since you're my friend I'll trust you this time but... please if there's something I need to know, just tell me. Please don't ruin my trust. I just found out that my first love and his family is not human and that my bestfriend is the same. Everything is so confusing and it's hard to understand so please... tell me everything. I might lose my sanity.
Kai: You asked for it.
Soobin's pov
Even though he said that he's her friend, I still can't leave her alone just like that.
I was outside the room and I heard the whole thing.
"I just found out that my first love and his family is not human and that my bestfriend is the same."
What?!
No.... It must be yeonjun.. Stop assuming soobin.....
After what felt like hours he got out. the door was left opened wide. Giving Y/n a glimpse of me.
I went in and sat on a sofa beside her bed.
Y/n: So... about what happened at the park... I'm sorry. I was just a bit shocked, I didn't mean to say mean things to you. I guess, I just couldn't accept the fact that such creatures like you existed. I mean who would? But the hardest part to accept is that those creatures killed someone I loved. Kai already told me everything. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it.
Soobin: Then did you mean what you said earlier?
Y/n: what?
Soobin: That... You found out about your first-
Y/n: About my- Oh! That! hehehehe that was a long time ago.....
Soobin: Who is it? There's only 3, Beomgyu, Yeonjun and me.
Y/n: None of the above! Why do you want to know anyways?
Soobin: Is it me?
Y/n: You really want to get to the point huh, Why are you even asking? So you can tease me 24/7?
Soobin: Because I like you.

Soobin: Don't make me say it again, dummy.
Y/n: this must be another prank of yours huh?
Soobin: I'm serious. Since we were highschool, I've liked you.
Y/n: liar.
Soobin: I'm serious! I even asked you out to the ball remember?
Y/n: You left me that day for yeji REMEMBER?!
Soobin: oh.... that...
Y/n: Unbelievable.
Soobin: Yeji didn't exist. It was sungmin hyung he shapeshifted as yeji to help me. I wanted to know if you liked me back but I guess you didn't because you didn't even fight for me. plus, You danced with someone else and kept smiling the entire time!
Y/n: So you didn't actually like yeji?
Soobin: I'm not gay. So...I kinda confessed in the awkwardest way possible... So... what's your answer?
Y/n: I liked you too.
Soobin: YESSSS!!! DOES THIS MEAN WE'RE TOGETHER NOW?!
Y/n: No. emphasis on "liked" past tense.
Soobin: what? why?
Y/n: I thought we were supposed to be worrying about me getting killed earlier. now's not the best time for that. and... I don't like you anymore.
Soobin: Oh............ that's okay. I guess I'll just have to make you fall for me all over again.
Author's pov
He gave her a kiss on her forehead before getting up.
Y/n: what the-
Soobin: Goodnight Y/n~
Y/n: That's gonna haunt me.
He flashes another smile before closing the door.
Y/n couldn't help but smile to herself as she fell asleep. Soobin was also grinning while happily skipping to his room. But one person can't smile for some reason.
"Why am I always the one who has to give? Can I think about myself and not others just this once?"
