John's first home was located in St. Michael's Alley in Charleston, South Carolina, but when he was still around six years old Henry Laurens purchased two other properties: Mepkin, which was his plantation, and another one on the outskirts of Charleston on a neighborhood named Ansonborough. The Ansonborough property seemed to be the main residence while Mepkin was kinda the summer house, though I could only find pictures of Mepkin.
Sadly none of these buildings remain today.
