"Opal!" Yells a voice.
"Opal!" The voice calls again.
"OPAL!!!!!!!!" This time when the voice yells I can definitely identify it as Parker's.
"What?" I whine as I turn to lay on my stomach.
"Opal you need to wake up my lovely, beautiful, sweet, kind sister of mine. It's BREAKFAST TIME!" He says the last two words loud enough to blow out my ear drums.
"I'll pass." I say pushing my face deeper into the fluffy pillow it's currently placed on.
"Oh really? Are you sure about that?" He asks with a hint of mischief in his tone, making me suspicious. I probably should be changing my answer. Unfortunately, I'm too tired to care.
"Yep." I muffle out into the pillow.
"Fine. We'll do it your way then.." He trails off.
"What are you t-" I get cut off by him jumping on top of me and tickling me.
"NO! NO! NO! GET OFF!!!" I scream in-between my fits of laughter, I hate it so much when he does this.
"Do you surrender?" He asks as he laughs at my suffering. He is enjoying this far too much.
"YES! Just get off!" I scream once again but this time he complies and gets off. He holds out his hand for me to take to help me get my sleepy self up. We walk out of the room and I stop in my tracks.
"Parker?" I ask looking around.
"Yes Opal?" He sighs as he turns to look at me. His eyebrow quirks up at me as he sees I've stopped.
"This isn't our house?" I ask mostly just to reassure myself that I haven't lost my mind.
"Nope, it isn't." He says popping the 'p'.
"We're at your friends house.." I pause. "Right. Sorry, I guess I slept so well I just forgot everything that happened." I say laughing a little at myself.
"Wait!" I say skidding to a stop once again.
"What?" He laughs.
"What happened to the police coming to question us last night?" I ask confused. They couldn't of forgotten. I mean, I did but that's different.
"They came. We spoke. They left." He shrugs and goes to turn back around.
"When? Why didn't you wake me?" I ask even more confused.
"It was around five o'clock. You needed the sleep. They understood, it was fine." He says. That's when I really take a good look at him and see how worn out he looks. His eyes are blood shot, his shoulders slumped, a bandage wrap around his arm. Wait.. where did the bandage wrap come from?
"It's for the wound. They had a paramedic check me out when I told them about the 'injury'." He replies. Oh crap, did I say all that out loud?
"What?"
"You asked where the bandage wrap came from. That guy shot at me and the bullet grazed me, remember? I told you when I came into your room." He explains.
"Right sorry. I forgot." I say shaking my head. Wow. I am just off this morning.
Parker chuckles and shakes his head at me and motions for me to follow him. As we're walking down the hallway he points out certain rooms to me. It's almost like a unofficial brief tour. This house is huge. Jesse must have a big family. I should ask Parker about him.
"So how long have you been friends with him?" I ask as I step into sync with him as we take our sweet time.
"Who? Jesse?" I nod in response. "I met him in ninth grade. I didn't like him." He laughs.
