I look at the hoodie I'm holding that Jesse had given me last night to wear to bed. We only have ten minutes before we have to leave. I should give it back to him before we go. I head through the halls to his room, remembering where it is thanks to Parker's mini tour he gave me yesterday morning. The door in open so I walk right in. It's empty but I hear footsteps moving around behind one of the doors in the room. The door swings open to reveal Jesse who is completely naked."Oh My Gosh!" I yell as I shield my eyes and turning around. I turn around and go to step out of the room when I come into contact with the wall and fall backwards.
"Opal!" He yells in shock. I'm not sure if it's shock from me seeing him in the nude or because of the wall incident. I feel him crouch down next to me, turn to look at him. Thankfully, he's thrown his pajama pants back on.
"Are you okay?" He ask as he turns my face to look at it. He looks over my forehead before his gaze meets my eyes. I gulp from the closeness as his eyes drift down to my lips and then back up to my eyes. I pull away from his touch and stand back up. He follows my actions and chuckles.
"I'll be ready in 3 minutes. Calm yourself beautiful, stress is not your friend." He says to me as I stand there. I blink a few times before his words sink in. I set down the hoodie on his bed, his eyes never leaving me as I do. I turn and walk back out and to the guest room. I grab my bag before heading into the living room and taking a seat on the couch as I wait for him. Three minutes, he was true to his word. Three minutes later, he surfaced and was ready. We headed out the door and to his car. We're around 4 minutes away from school when my phone vibrates with a message from Parker.
I'm sorry about last night. I hope everything is okay. I love you. I'll see you at school I'm sure but just so you know, we need to talk about what happened.
- ParkerI decide I might as well text him back and put his mind at ease.
Hey. It's fine, I love you too. Everything is great I just needed to get out of the house. I will see you at school. - Opal
I put my phone back in my pocket and look over to Jesse, he glances over at me and smiles.
"So, we shouldn't tell anyone about last night." I say fiddling with the hem of my shirt. His smile falls.
"I still think you need to tell Parker about Kyle." He sighs. Those words were all I needed. He's indirectly telling me he isn't going to tell him.
I nod my head lightly to let him think I'll take it into consideration. Even though I think he knows for a fact I won't ever change my mind about telling him. I turn my gaze to look out the window as we pull into the parking lot.
As we get out of the car, I see Danny is standing over near the front of the building talking to one of the cheerleaders.
"Hey." Jesse says, bringing my attention back to him. I quirk an eyebrow up in question, willing him to continue.
"I don't regret last night. The kiss. I kissed you because it felt right." He says and I feel my face flush. "If you change your mind about Lover Boy, you know where to find me." He finishes before walking off.
That took me completely off guard. I can't believe him. He is so confusing, it's to the point where it's frustrating. I shake it off as I head towards the entrance of the school. I watch Danny and the cheerleader as I get closer to the building. I am about four feet away from where the two are talking and she looks like she's flirting. She's laughing at every other word he says and I can't help but feel jealous. I'm about to pass them and walk through the doors when Danny looks up at me and smiles.
