Draco x reader ~ started with a bet

To be honest I found this a challenge for no particular reason. I hope you like what I made from it.

'I hate you.' You sighed.

You and your friend were looking at Draco. You didn't believe you went along with it. You and your friend made bets all the time but this was crazy.

You and draco didn't get along even though you were both slytherins. There were a few little things you did that always pissed him off. You thought it was hilarious.

'You said yes.'

'He hates me. He'll never ask me. Besides, I hate him too.'

'You better start working on it.' Your friend laughed.

You took a deep breath and entered the classroom. When you past Draco you casually touched him. You didn't even look back you just sat down.

Draco didn't quite get why you did that and what you wanted to achieve with that. At least you got his attention. You looked over your shoulder. When you saw him looking at you, you past him a small, almost invisible smile before looking away. Draco was very confused. He didn't even know if he saw that correctly.

You didn't even know how you were going to do this. You couldn't tell him right away because it wouldn't make any sense. He had to get interested in you.. without letting him suspect something or think that you hated him as much as he probably thought.

'What have you gotten me into.' You sighed.

You tried to keep annoying him but tried to do it less than usual. You also kept an eye on him to see what he was interested in. Maybe if you did something similar he'd find you more interesting.

You did keep your eye on him and you found out that he was interested in potions and alchemy. You were too. That was strange because you never saw him as the type to be interested in anything really.

You also saw him during quidditch practise. Even though you didn't like him you couldn't get past the fact that he was extremely talented at that.

You sucked at quidditch so that wasn't an option.. so you were in the common room. You saw Draco sitting there with his alchemy book. You walked over to him and snatched it out of his hands.

Draco looked at you. He had been rather confused by your behaviour lately. You passed him a flirty smile while sitting down on a different couch and reading it.

'You're so fucking annoying.' Draco sighed.

'I was already wondering why this wasn't in the library.'

'You're kidding.' He said while getting up and grabbed the book back from you.

You looked up at him.

'I'm not. Give it back.'

'I had it first anyways. Wait for your turn.'

'No!' You hissed. 'I've been waiting for that book for weeks.'

'You should've been faster.' He shrugged.

You got up and tried to grab the book from him. Draco held it up in the air. You jumped up and tried to get it. He didn't know why but it made him laugh.

'Short stuff.' He laughed.

You pushed him back a little.

'Did you really think you were going to push me over? You aren't strong enough.' He smirked.

There was a flirty chemistry between you two. Didn't know why it happened but you felt yourself blush. This wasn't meant to happen. Why were you blushing. You were too startled by your own behaviour that you couldn't respond to Draco.

'But keep trying, maybe one day you will.' He laughed while walking away.

You had to get process this. You didn't like Draco. You hated him. This wasn't happening. Were you actually falling for him?

The next few days your fights were more flirting then anything. You were glad that you were winning the bet but this sucked. You didn't even know what you wanted.

You heard someone walk down the stairs of the common room. Most people were outside. It was a great day. You looked up and saw Draco. You looked away from him.

Draco stopped in front of you. You looked up at him.

'What?' You asked.

'Here.'

Draco handed you the book you fought about last week.

'Why are you giving that to me?'

'You wanted to read it and I finished it.'

You looked at him. You didn't trust this.

'What did you do to it? Is something going to attack me when I open it?'

Draco laughed and he sat down besides you.

'No.' He grinned.

You grabbed the book from him. You opened it and saw a little note inside.

Don't know what changed between us but if you don't have a date yet to the yule ball I'd love to take you.

Draco~

You looked at him and felt yourself smile.

'You don't hate me.' You laughed. 'No matter how hard you keep screaming it at me.. yes I want to go to the yule ball with you.'

Draco smiled and he went in for the hug. You hugged him back. All you knew then was that you were never going to tell him that this started with a bet..
