'There is nothing we can do.'

Dodge turned around and looked at you. He clearly didn't agree.

Everything was going wrong. The apes were breaking free because of Caesar. You never hurt them. You knew Dodge hated them but you didn't. You loved animal and you were very good with apes.

'We can't let them just walk out of here! We have to stop those disgusting animals.'

'Dodge-'

'How can you still like them?! Look at what they're doing!' He hissed.

You looked away from him and sighed. You allowed yourself to lean against the wall. Dodge was an amazing person but he could get angry.. that was the Dodge you didn't like.

'Answer me!'

'You know I don't talk to you when you're angry.' You hissed. 'You say irrational things and I don't want to provoke you.'

Dodge sighed. He walked over to you and laid a hand on your upper arm. You looked up at him.

'I'm sorry.. you're right.' He said. 'I just.. I don't like apes and now they're doing this.. it's just too much.'

You looked at the door. It was open. You two were just hiding. You had to get out some time.

'I don't dare to go outside.' You spoke softly.

Dodge looked at you. You were never the type to be scared.

'What if they kill us?' You choked.

Dodge pulled you into a hug. You held him tightly and felt his strong arms around you.

'We have to get out.' He said. 'We just have to stay together.'

You let him go and nodded while he let you go too. You approached the door. Dodge looked past it. He then ran out towards the garden hose you had there. Dodge used it to spray the apes. It was pulled away from him.. They saw him.

'Dodge be careful!' You immediately said.

You ran out of the cell. Dodge was now holding the object he used to electrocute to apes. You saw that Caesar was about to shoot water at him.

'Dodge!' You screamed.

You ran against him. The object flew out of his hands and you both got hit by a ray of water, causing you to fall down.

It was cold but at least dodge didn't freaking die. He could have electrocuted. Dodge got up as soon as the water stopped. He helped you up while the apes approached you two. You ran towards the stairs and went up them towards the door. Dodge tried to open it but he couldn't.

'Stop! Please I never did anything to you!' You yelled at the apes.

You blocked their path towards Dodge. He looked over his shoulder and turned to you. You were protecting him? Caesar stopped the apes. You looked at him and then at the door. Hoping he'd go back to opening it so you could escape.

'I won't let you get to him! I know he did horrible things to you but you can't kill him! You can't kill me! I never did anything, I took care of you all.. I did what I was supposed to do!'

Dodge was still trying to open the door. You had to distract them a little longer.

'Please, I'm begging you.. we won't send anyone to you. We'll allow you to escape. I'll keep an eye on him and-'

Dodge then grabbed your wrist and pulled you through the door. He slammed the door behind you and you two ran out of the building.

You took Dodge to your place. Your clothes were in the dryer. You were wearing some sweats and a t-shirt and Dodge was wearing some sweats you had laying around from your brother.

You could send him home but you were too afraid the apes would find him. So you allowed him to stay with you. He was sitting on your couch. You joined him. Dodge looked at you.

'Thank you.'

You turned your head to him.

'For what?' You asked.

'Saving my life. I could have died in there.'

'Did you really think I was going to let you die?' You asked.

Dodge took a sip from his drink.

'I mean.. I've been a dick to those apes and I know how much you love them. I thought you might let me die.'

'No way. I would never. You mean to much to me.'

Dodge blushed a little and looked away from you. You smiled and laid your head on his shoulder.

'I mean it.' You smiled.

'I know.' He said before kissing your head.

You sat up and looked at him.

'These past few weeks have been crazy. I hope nothing major is going to happen.'

'You never know..' Dodge said. 'But as long as I have you by my side I'm sure we'll be fine.'

You blushed. You and Dodge just looked at each other for a moment. Before you knew it his lips were against yours. You felt yourself kissing him back while moving closer to him. He pulled back and looked at you. Your greeted him with a smile.. and then he knew it was okay.
