Hahaha I was just going through my bookshelf, looking for something to read so that I could distract my self from my thoughts. That's when I came across my most favourite novel, "Jannat ke Patte" (leaves of heaven). It's in Urdu, so most people might not know about it. Sorry. *shrugs*
When I saw the book, I literally laughed out loud, all my thoughts a distant whisper because a memory came back to me.
The night of 19th of March, 2019– Yes a few weeks from now— I had just updated my poetry book, Lines and rhymes. I got a notification of a vote from a dear fellow Rizwanzahid129
I sent a pm to thank for the vote. A reply came back, and I was like "Allah Allah thank you" like I usually am XD
Allah Allah is actually the phrase I adopted from this very novel, JKP. The female lead, Haya, had adopted it when she went to visit Turkey. Long story. (Those who know the language, please read the novel. It's good.)
That's round about when I got challenged. Seriously, I didn't mind it. It was fun. Sir only asked me if I knew the most famous dialogue from the novel.
And. I. Got. Stuck.
I literally repeated every dialogue I remembered, from the start to the end, which where very famous. Hella famous! But every time, it was a "no. This isn't it."
At the end, I gave up.
I. Gave. Up.
I still can't believe I did that. -_-
Well, when I asked what was the most famous dialogue, the kind sir asked me would I mind?
Why would I mind? I don't have mind enough to mind.
"No." I said. And then the most famous dialogue turned out to be....
Jahanum mein jao!
Which literally translates as "go to hell". I hit my head on my palm and cursed my self.
How did I forget?!?! At the very end of the novel is a mother daughter scene, where the little daughter said to her mom "jahanum mein jao."
Well, then I had to read the novel all over again, to memorise it all over again XD Just because I couldn't believe I forgot a dialogue from my most favourite novel. Now I know all of them. :):)
That was just like half an hour? Almost an hour? I don't remember that. But every time I look at the book now, I laugh at the memory.
Thank you sir. Because of this memory, I didn't have to turn on the light of my room, and disturb my baby sister's dreams while I read. I just looked at the book in the light of my phone, and got all the distractions I needed. XD XD Rizwanzahid129 Thank you so much.
