Is trust more important than love?
—
HE GREW CONFUSED, looking out the window. The rain drizzled down at a faster pace, but what confused him further was watching it wave back and forth between light rain and heavy rain. He scrunched his nose, putting his hand on the window as the computer behind him held tabs about the recent weather.
Peter swore under his breath, seeing a glimpse of sunlight. It only lasted a second before the clouds covered the ball of gas once again, rain drizzling down again. The situation only got worse as he looked down, watching the people start to run faster. Little kids cried, urging to be carried up by their parents as the sidewalks cracked underneath their feet.
The parents rushed, scooping up their children and rushing for shelter. Peter's question was soon answered as his brown eyes scoped out a golf ball sized hail piece falling and crashing to the ground. He stepped backwards, watching the pieces of hail just grow larger. Rushing, he tore out his suit from the pile of his clothes in his closet.
Quickly pulling it on and tugging on his mask, he grabbed his backpack and swung out towards her hotel room. He knew that he could easily go as Peter Parker, but transportation would take so much longer. Dipping into an alleyway just half a block away from the hotel, he slipped back into his 'Peter Parker' attire, sprinting towards the hotel.
Entering it, the receptionist gave him an odd look. His nose scrunched at the scent of water damage, but he did his best to ignore it. Before he could race towards the elevator, her drawling and thick accent stood out to him. "The elevator's broken, kid. Take the damn stairs," She pointed backwards, adjusting her glasses.
"Thanks," He turned to look at her, hesitant to go to the stairs as he studied her name tag briefly. "Joyce." She merely groaned in response, waving him off. She oddly reminded him of the Monsters Inc. receptionist, but pushed the thought into the back of his mind. He looked around, adjusting his backpack before starting to run up the sets of stairs.
Last time he'd checked, her room was in the fourth floor. Rushing up, he stumbled to a stop to see a female that stayed in the hotel room beside her get out, smoking as her eyes were highlighted in a glazed over version of red. Her unclear green eyes landed on Peter's figure as she smirked, obviously high.
"How would you feel to have a good time, boy?" A small cackle left her lips as she tugged the cigarette again, continuously breaking the idea of the 'no smoking' rule that was loosely held in the hotel and its customers. Peter shook his head, taking in a breath and approaching Y/n's door, pulling at the doorknob.
It jiggled a bit, but didn't move. The doorknob was unlocked and he didn't have a key card. The girl's smirk grew, weight adjusting onto one leg as one strap of her tank top hung off of her shoulder. "You're heading into Celeste's room? Aye, that's a good idea. She's quite the chick herself, eh?"
His brows furrowed at the name as he whispered under his breath. "Celeste?" Eliora nodded, tilting over to one side and nearly falling before she stumbled and held onto the rim of her door as a stability source. "Yeah, Celeste. Young, h/c haired, big e/c eyes. Sassy, quiet, and clever, that one is." The crackhead mused.
Peter glanced at Eliora shortly, nodding slowly. "Y-Yeah, she is." Her brows perked at the sight of Peter continuing to struggle. She waved at Peter shortly, going back inside and bringing a fake I.D. card. He looked at it for a second, seeing a female that was oddly similar to Eliora, but the ages didn't match up.
"You don't look seventeen."
"Keep your mouth shut, boy," She hissed, glaring. "Just use the damn card."
He quickly shut up, swiping the card. The lock turned green with a small sound, revealing that the security department was seriously lacking. He passed the I.D. back to Eliora as she snatched it from him. The druggie glared at him one last time before heading back inside with a loud slam of the door.
He sighed under his breath, pushing the door open and strolling inside. He made sure to lock and close the door behind him even though it probably wouldn't do much. He saw her figure eerily sit on the edge of her bed, staring out the window blankly. For once, the curtains weren't closed.
Her figure remained stiff and her eyes were glued to the hail storm that was occurring outside. "Celeste, huh?" Peter made the first move, swallowing harshly. He didn't want to push his way into this and that only left the way of easing his way into it. She mumbled softly under her breath, chuckling lowly. "I'm guessing you met Eliora then, huh?"
His tongue poked the inside of his cheek as he offered a slow nod in response, brown orbs still locked onto her slightly hunched over figure. "Yeah, you could say that. She's not exactly welcoming." Shaking her head, Y/n clicked her tongue. Her eyes drifted back to the skyline ahead of her.
"Welcoming enough to get laid, apparently."
Peter chuckled softly, making her crack a small smile. "Thin walls, Parker, thin walls." She mused, knocking on the wall gently after standing up. She turned to him, smiling lightly as her eyes stayed glued onto his figure instead. "I guess you saw the weather too?" He hummed softly, seeing that she'd brought it up first. "Can't miss it."
She continued to look outside, watching a piece of hail fall. The girl extended her hand, as if measuring her hand in comparison to the weather that she'd caused outside. "In a way, it seems so." He lightly spoke, approaching closer to her until their arms brushed against each other. He stared out the window as well, glancing at her occasionally.
"Why are you acting like this?"
A frown showed up on her features, "Because my trust issues consume my love for a certain someone," The girl turned to him, their eyes locking to on each other as Peter swallowed harshly, feeling the tension grow. He gulped, feeling slightly jealous over whoever that 'certain someone' was. "And that someone waits for no one."
