Warning - gore

Everything was dark. Almost hazy, not exactly void-like. The familiar feeling of using a quirk and fighting was present but for some reason, just couldn't see or hear it.

"What was I doing before?"

It felt like what ever it was that was being done in the past had been forgotten, only momentarily though.

Soon, all his senses started coming back, rather quickly, enough to make his head spin.

His right arm ached from overusing his quirk and his hand...

"Feels warm?"

Looking down, crimson eyes met with an equally, if not more eerie color slowly dripping from his hand like some kind if water-oil hybrid.

It was blood. Although his body was aching and burning terribly, no pain felt was enough to cause this high amount of blood loss.

That was when he realized a body was laying practically still in front of him. Turning his gaze up to the face, they widened as they took in the horrific sight.

Blood dribbled from multiple wounds in her face, hero costume torn and shredded in multiple areas aligned with bruises and even more cuts.

There were also burn marks littered around with the bruises and torn fabric of the suit. He was no idiot, those burns were unmistakably from explosions, his explosions.

That wasn't even the worst part. There, in her torso, leaking with blood and spilling broken and patching looking organs was a deep hole.

The h/c girl began falling to the side but, thanks to quick reflexes, he caught her before her limp body hit the ground.

He watched in panic as herr e/c eyes began to glaze over and become foggy, devoid of any of the life that had once been there moments before.

As much as he wanted to call to her and try shaking her awake he knew it would be pointless. The gaping hole in her chest proving any attempt worthless.

Suddenly he heard a loud voice chiming through the air and felt heard people approaching, presumably heros.

"There's no need to fear, because I am here!"

The voice was familiar bit sounded so distant to the ashen blonde.

"Yo! Bakugou! What happened to-" the familiar voice of an equally familiar redhead broke off at the sight that lay before him.

"Bro...."

Everything that happened next was blurred almost. The cold corpse taken from his arms, paramedics working on his not-so-serious wounds.

There was a soothing pat on his tense shoulder.

"I'm sorry."

The words would continue to be repeated to him for months. But none of it could fix what had happened.

His eyes blinked open slowly. Sitting up just as slowly as he had faded into consciousness, he reached up to rub his temples.

The dream wasn't uncommon. After so many years of seeing it, it effected him less. Physically, not mentally.

Bakugou stood up from the warmth of his bed, traveling across his bedroom to gather clothes and other things to begin the day.
