Ch. 23 - A Hero's Reason

That moment you forget it's your update day.... uhhhhh lol

"I'm sorry to tell you. But I dont remember you." The words left your lips as soon as you were alone with Midnight.

She had sense calmed down considerably and now gazed at you sad but understanding.

"That's alright, it's enough for me to know that you're still alive." She smiled.

She was aged but still triggered a foggy image in your mind to rise to the surface, one that appeared younger.

"I suppose you live alone now, I won't stop you, and you can continue with your life, but I just want to offer, if you still want to be a hero, dont be afraid to call me, I'll always have a spot for you." She grinned.

You smiled back. As she began to walk off you stopped her.

"Midnight? I was wondering, sense I cant remember.... do you know why I wanted to be a hero?" You asked nervously.

She looked down at you and answered willingly.

"I remember, you said it was so that children wouldn't need to suffer, I suppose it had to do with everything that had happened in the past to give you that reason, and it's a very noble reason indeed." Then she left.

"So children won't have to suffer..."

When you got home it seemed lonely. The bustle of the last day left you craving more human interaction then you thought you might ever want.

"Maybe I should call over a friend? But who wouldn't be busy?"

As you thought, your eyes trailed around the room before landing on a familiar box. You mood instantly darkened.

"I still need to get my memories back. Time hasnt run out, if I can kill him within the next few months I'll be one step to returning to my old self. But... do I really want that? I like spending time with Katsuki.... but what about all my old friends? What about a potential lover I might have had that I need to take back? I want to remember."

You let out another sigh. Then you remembered.

"Oh fuck i have to go to work!"

You scrambled down the hall and into your room, throwing on your uniform before booking it down the street and in to the cafe.

"I AM HERE!" You yelled, entering the back where only employees were allowed.

"Geez, if you enter like that I might mistake you for All Might, even though he's retired." Akasuki laughed.

"She's nothing like All Might." Burne muttered.

"Ugly says what?"

"What?!"

"Y/n!"
