Pulling into a parking space, she takes a deep breath. Keith Accounting is an intimidating building. It's stark white, five stories high with floor to ceiling windows in the entryway. Being anywhere remotely close to the building makes her skin crawl because more often than not, Derrick is hanging around like he owns the place. He essentially does, it was a graduation gift from Bryan and Derrick.
She straightens out her gray pencil skirt and walks into the building, red high heels clicking on the marble flooring.
"Oh, good afternoon Ms. Keith, Mr. Keith is up in his office. He should be free. His next appointment isn't until three." The bubbly blonde secretary chirps.
"Thank you, Kate." Felicity smiles politely making her way to the glass elevator.
At the fifth floor, Adam's personal secretary waves and calls Adam. When they're given the okay to enter, Felicity gulps and opens the double oak doors.
Adam is the opposite of Felicity and people find it hard to believe they're siblings. Not to mention, twins. Adam has brown curly hair and blue denim eyes. He stands tall at 5'11". And, he has a swimmer's body. Felicity has brownie-blonde pin straight hair, with puppy dog brown eyes and a petite frame standing at only 5'3".
"Tee, what brings you by?" Adam beams.
"Stop, you're to chipper to have a three-week-old, a three-year-old, and a four-year-old." Felicity shakes her head.
"Truthfully, I'm exhausted but I can't stop being chipper. It's bad customer service." Adam blinks rapidly.
"Well anyway, have you gotten a letter from the adoption agency?" Felicity questions.
"Not that I'm aware of, why?" Adam cocks an almost non-existent eyebrow.
"I got this in the mail." Felicity sighs pulling the manila envelope out of her big brown leather purse and placing it on the desk.
"Let me call Brooke." Adam reaches for his work phone.
He exchanges some words with his wife and eventually hangs up turning back towards his twin.
"I got one in the mail too." He sighs.
"Well, read mine and tell me what you think." Felicity plops in the pull-out chair across from Adam.
He groans, but slowly starts skimming through the letter from the Adoption Agency he finishes reading and looks up at his sibling.
"Do you have the other letter?" Adam breathes out.
"I do, in my purse. I haven't opened it." She shakes her head.
"Good. Don't." He spits.
"Why not?" Felicity stiffens. She really wants to open it.
"Because Tee," Adam sighs. "We have a good thing going for us. Derrick is a great interior designer, his shop is doing amazingly. Dad's a professor at San Jose State. I'm doing well money wise...Hell, I'm supporting you. Do you want to jeopardize that by talking to this man? Who knows what will happen if we talk to him." Adam expresses.
"But don't you at least want to know why we were put up for adoption?" Felicity bites her thumbnail. An automatic trait she's had since she was little.
"No, because we were better off for it. If you read that letter you're stupid." Adam spits.
"Why would I be stupid?" Felicity raises her voice slightly.
