It's chapter seven already, can you believe this? Because I can't. Here is another piece of the puzzle told from a different point of view. I promise you that the story is going to start filling in the gaps, and I thank you all for sticking with it.
Like always, tell me what works, and what doesn't.
Happy Reading!

"Campion. Campion." A voice whispered, there was a sound of a whoosh, and Cam could feel the air blow over his bare back, his skin cried out in agony against it.
His eyes protested as he tried to open them, his muscle rebelled against him as he sat up on his cot. Weak and trembling. "Taya." He mumbled as she rushed to hold him up.
"What did they do to you?" she whispered, putting her hand against his forehead. "You're burning up bud." Quickly she reached into her bag and opened a bottle of fresh water, cupping her hand under his chin, she began to slowly pour some into his mouth.
The sweetness of the bottled water was exquisite against his dry tongue and Cam realized he hadn't had water in over a day. After Taya had warned him about the drugs in the food he only ate and drank when it was absolutely necessary, but it wasn't nearly enough. He could feel his body wasting away. "Thank you." He said after she'd given him about half of the bottle.
What had they done for him? Yesterday, just as Taya left the guards came in, injected him with something, and that's the last thing he remembered besides being shoved into his cell a few hours later, trembling and bloodied.
Her hand closed around his, and she wiped some of the sweat from his forehead with a damp rag. "This time I came prepared." Taya made him lay down and she put a cold pack on his forehead and gave him some medicine that would help counteract the inhibitors, so it wouldn't be so sick. She hid three bottles of water in the bathroom, where the guards would never check, and stashed granola bars and dried fruit behind a loose piece of the paneling that lined the walls. She instructed him to take four pills out of a little pill bottle she stuck in the wall too. It would help him sleep and provide him with the vitamins he was missing.
"Thank you," Cam said again, as she returned to his side. "For everything."
"It's gonna be okay Campion. I'm not going anywhere, you'll be okay." Taya replied, sadness crossing her face. There was something she wasn't telling him, and Cam could tell it was bothering her even without the ability to read her mind.
"Tell me, there's something bothering you Taya." He said, opening his eyes a little bit more and attempting to look healthier.
Taya looked like she was about to protest, with her eyebrows furrowed and her lips drawn into a thin line. But then she sighed. "I can't say, I know that sounds really awful, but trust me it's for your safety. You are in more danger than you know, and I'm not sure if it's going to end anytime soon."
Cam did his best to take a deep breath and process everything she was saying to him. It didn't make sense, and a scalding pain rocketed through his skull. He cried out and she held him still so that the guards wouldn't come poking around.
Suddenly the sound of guards approaching filled the room. Taya's eyes grew wide with realization. "Stay safe, stay strong," she said, springing off the bed.
Taya had warned him that this would happen. The guards would come for him at his weakest and take him to the man in charge, Dr. Baylor. He was not a good man, and he would torture him until Cam complied. Taya had advised him to keep his mouth shut and to find some way to ride it out. There was only so much Baylor would let him take in the session. And the first time wasn't normally so bad, but that didn't mean Baylor was any less of a dangerous man.
