Hello there!

We are almost coming to the end of Part One! Thank you so much for your readership, I can't tell you enough how much it means to me!

Happy Reading!

Although it was deep into the night, the other six members of the team, stumbling silhouettes against the starry night, found their way to my apartment.

Navi and Sam were first, of course. Navi looked as if she'd been excitedly waiting for a reason to get up. Her brown eyes shone with the energy I think I could only muster after a good three cups of coffee. Grande cups. Sam, like Navi, didn't look tired at all. As they walked in, he whispered something in her ear that made her chuckle. Even in the middle of the night, they were just two love-struck kids.

"Long time, no see," I said to Roo (Lorelei) as she entered and plopped down next to Navi and Sam on my couch. She groaned in response and propped her head down on Navi's shoulder, struggling to stay awake. Navi leaned her head on Lorelei's and whispered something to her that made Lorelei, even at her most exhausted state, crack a smile.

Jack was next, in his bumblebee pajamas and a big yawn. When he saw Luce, he looked relieved. "Baby, I woke up, and the bed was cold, and I thought-" he began.

"I'm alright, Jackie, I'm alright," Luce replied as she held out one end of the blanket to him so that they could snuggle closely together. Jack kissed her on the forehead and held her tightly in his arms, afraid that if he let go, Luce would never come back.

And then it was a waiting game. The six of us here, we were the heart and soul of the team. But we didn't have a leader, technically. I mean, I called this meeting, but we needed someone to make definitive decisions. We needed Theo.

It was customary for the leader to arrive last, maybe that was just because Charlie was always running late to everything (even his birth) that it became a tradition. Sometimes the others would challenge him for dominance, seeing who would arrive the latest; usually, this ended in some sort of standoff. And of course, it usually was Theo, forever the instigator.

And as of our majority vote, Theo was in charge. But it was never easy for Charlie to ceed anything. Especially his power. And since this was the first time we'd all been together since Campion arrived? It would be interesting to see how this went.

"Alright, team-" Charlie and Theo said at the same time. Charlie coming in through the door, and Theo opening a portal from his apartment into mine. There was silence as the rest of us held our breaths. It was much too late at night to deal with anything along the lines of a full out fight.

But then Charlie sat down in an armchair with a brief curt nod to Theo, who came to stand beside me.

"Taya. Luce?" Theo asked, giving us the floor after his dominance had been established. He stood tall and puffed out his chest, I rolled my eyes. Cheeky.

"Well, sorry that we woke you up, but we have a big problem. The Garnet Rapiers are back, and this means that we are even further behind Baylor than we thought we were." I explained.

"It is imperative that we find the other. It needs to be our number one priority, above missions above our own relationships. Not only are they in danger, Campion is in danger, which means that time is running out." Luce continued.

"What has the Prophesayer said? Has she spoken Luce recently?" Sam asked intently, his scruffy brown hair seemed to be just as on alert as he was, standing off his head in all directions. His arm was wrapped around Navi protectively, as if this very real danger would come to her first, before the rest of us.
