Why him, why now

Mikasa POV

I walked out of the school after I gave Annie my number to meet up with Armin and Eren.

"Mikasa, what took you so long" I heard Eren say, an angry expression on his face.

"calm down Eren it's none of your business"

I just ignored him after that, walking home.

I walked in the door and was greeted by Eren's parents.

"hey, Mikasa. How was your first day?"

"it was alright."

I walked up the stairs to my room and plopped on to my bed. I pulled out my science binder and started to work on the project we were given.

Annie POV

When I got home there was a car in the driveway. None of us can even drive. I thought.

I kicked up my board, holding it in my left hand. I slowly approached the house, cautious of who might get out of the car.

Once I reached the front step I heard the car door open.

"Hey Annie, long time no see," a deep voice said. I instantly recognized the voice. It belonged to my father.

I turned around. "what do you want," I said harshly.

"wow, I come back after 3 years and this is the kind of treatment I get?" he said. I just glared at him. "ok, I guess I'll get straight to the point. I have a job offer for you. We can discuss it at the coffee shop tomorrow after your done school"

As he was about to step back into his car, he paused.

"by the way, don't bother telling the other two. I've already talked to them. And they agreed."

Now I was angry, he could tell. I just hope he doesn't try to recruit Mikasa. I'm pretty sure if he did Eren would have something to say about it.

I watched as the car drove away. I stomped into the house, making my way upstairs and to my room. Reiner and Bertholdt were out, probably on a date. I laid on my bed for a couple of minutes before the silence was broken. My Phone was going off.

- hey, want to come over and work on the science project

- uh. Sure

- ok. I'm right across the street

I shoved my phone into my pocket, grabbing my bag and walking out the door. I walked across the street and knocked on the door.

About a minute later the door opened.

"what are you doing here" I looked up and saw it was Eren who answered the door.

"Eren don't be rude and let our guest in" I heard a voice yell.

"but mom her dads a-"

" I don't want to hear it Eren. Let her in"

Eren sighed stepping aside to let me in. I heard someone running down the stairs, I looked over and all I saw was a wave of black. Mikasa had tackled me into a hug.

I was shocked, no one's hugged me before. At least not the way she did.

"come on let's go up to my room so we won't be bugged," she said as she glared daggers at Eren.

I followed her up the stairs and into her room. When I walked in she closed the door right behind me.

"so where do you want to start on the project"

" how about what causes the disease"

"sure". I sat down on her bed and pulled out my science textbook. She followed suit.

After working for an hour I had zoned out, looking down at my page. Thoughts then started to rush into my head. What coffee shop did he mean? Is it the one right by my school, titan's cafe? Or is it a different one.

I was soon snapped out of my thoughts from Mikasa waving her hand in my face.

"Hey, is everything alright?"

"what? Oh, um, yeah everything is fine. Why?"

"well you did just zone out for like 5 minutes"

"well I have a lot of things on my mind"

"do you want to talk about it?"

"no. I shouldn't"

"ok. I won't push"

We sat I silence for 5 minutes, just continued to work. There was a knock on the door, the door handle started to turn.

" Hey, girls, don't mean to interrupt but I was just wondering if Annie was going to eat with us"

"no, thank you. I should head home, Reiner and Bertholdt must be wondering where I am"

I started to pack up my things as  I'm guessing Mikasa's mom left.

"are you sure you don't want to stay for dinner?" I looked back to Mikasa before nodding my head.

I walked down the stairs and out the door. Before I closed it I heard the lady from earlier shout:" your welcome over anytime Annie "

"thank you," I said with a smile, walking out the door and closing it behind me.

I've been home for about 2 hours or so, literally doing nothing but reading. I really like this book. I then remembered that I haven't eaten yet.

I looked at the clock on my nightstand, it read 7:45. I sighed getting off my bed and making my way downstairs.

What should I have tonight? I thought, having done this every night. Reiner and Bertholdt always went out, so I was left alone in the house.

I grabbed a packet of noodles, deciding to have my usually for dinner.

After I finished making my dinner, I sat in the living room and watched the Assassination Classroom.

That was pretty much my night noodles and Assassination Classroom. Pretty relaxing if you ask me. Tomorrow is a whole different story, meeting with my father never ends well especially because of the kind of business he's in.

I didn't know where to end it so there I guess. I tried to make this a Mikasa POV chapter but I swear the next chapter will be the one.
