I think I like you, part 1

Annie POV

I walk down the street, hands shoved into my pockets, music blasting in my ears. I didn't want to meet with my dad but it was the safest option I had.

Once I made it to the Titans cafe I ordered a latte and found a free booth. I pulled out my phone and scrolled through Instagram.

I notice I had a couple of follower requests. I don't post anything so what's the point if having to public.

Eren, Armin and Mikasa had requested to follow me. I accepted the requests and I instantly received a DM.

Mikasa - hey. Did you make it to the cafe?

I smiled a bit

Annie - yeah. He isn't here yet. I'm surprised

Once I hit send I looked up to see if he had walked in while I was texting. He hadn't.

Mikasa - wow you'd think he would be there before you

Annie - yeah well I hope he shows up soon. I'll give him like 10 minutes. After that, I'm leaving.

Mikasa - I agree. Maybe if he doesn't show up you could come over and we could work on the project?

That made me smile. As I'm typing out a response I felt something hit my hand. I looked down to see a note. I looked around to see who it could have been.

I opened the note and read it carefully.

Annie,

You shouldn't have told anyone about us. Now we'll have to meet on a later date. Don't forget I have eyes everywhere. Don't make this mistake again.

Father.

I sigh knowing what he said was true. I sent Mikasa a message to let her know I'm coming over.

I walked up to the steps and took a deep breath. When I knocked on the door it instantly swung open. I jumped a little.

"what were you doing? Standing by the door?" I said a smirk playing on my lips.

She rubbed the back of her neck. "maybe". I let out a little laugh.

We walked into the house, following her up the stairs. I don't know why it's only been a couple of days and we're like best friends.

I shrugged off the thought and followed her into her room. She closed the door behind me as I put my bag down.

"so what part are we on?" I asked. I grabbed my science binder and my textbook sitting down on the bed.

"Um...i think we still have to do the symptoms and everything else. We only did the causes last time," she replied. I then began to remember what we did.

Mikasa pulled out her laptop and started to search things up and I just found information in the textbook.

After about 30 minutes of just researching and writing things down, Mikasa broke the silence.

"why do you think our teachers just gave us assignments on the first day?"

"I don't know, maybe they were busy with other stuff"

I knew why they didn't teach us anything but I'm not going to tell Mikasa right now. I promised them to keep it a secret.

" I just find it really weird"

"yeah me too"

We continued to work in silence. My phone suddenly started to ring. I picked it up and looked at the number.

"who is it?" Mikasa asked.

" it's just Reiner" I answered it and put it on speaker.

"hey, Reiner what's up?"

"did you talk to your dad?" I looked up at Mikasa then back at my phone. I sighed.

"no. I ended up getting a note saying he can't meet today"

"wow, that's really weird. So when are you meeting him then?"

" I don't know. He didn't say."

"ok. Well, Bert and I won't be home again tonight so fend for yourself ". I just hung up, not wanting to talk about the subject anymore.

"well since they won't be home maybe you could stay for dinner?" I heard Mikasa ask me. I look over to her and she had a slight blush on her cheeks.

Wow. She looks cute when she blushes. I thought but quickly shook my head at the thought.

I smiled and just nodded my head. She smiled back and got up from the bed and left the room.

A couple of minutes went by and she came back into the room with a smile on her face.

"Carla said it was fine," she said. She seemed really happy I'm staying. I wonder why? I just gave her a nod.

I continued to look through the textbook as she sat back down on the bed. I felt her staring at me.

I glanced up and I was right, she seemed zoned out. I waved my hand in her face to get her attention. She snapped out of her trance and looked down at her hands in embarrassment.

"is everything alright?" I asked she looked uncomfortable.

"y-yeah everything's fine" she stuttered looking everywhere but me.

I lightly grabbed her chin making her look at me. Her blush intensified.

"are you sure everything fine?" I said looking her in the eyes.

" I think I like you, Annie, " she whispered.
