The first step

Mikasa POV

I hopped on my skateboard, riding to the warehouse. I suppose this is step one of Annie's plan.

Before we left the house, Annie had shown me the salute so it wouldn't look like she's bringing a guest.

When we arrived at the warehouse, Annie walked up and knocked on the door. A man with light brown hair and blue eyes opened the door. Both Annie and I did the salute and he let us into the building.

I followed Annie up the stairs to her father's office.

"stay here. I'll be back in a couple of minutes" Annie said, pointing to the door frame. I nodded, leaning up against the wall.

--3 minutes later--

"good luck Annie. I heard he's a tough target" I heard a deep voice say.

"thank you, father, " Annie replied, saluting her father.

Annie turned around and walked past me, mouthing let's go. I took the hint and followed Annie.

Once we were outside, I noticed she had an iPad in her hand. She started tapping on the screen.

"what are we gonna do now?" I asked, confused about the situation.

"we have to find this guy before anyone else," she said, handing me the iPad.

I looked at the picture on the screen. The bio said his name was Kieth Shadis, he was in his mid-30s, bald with brown eyes.

"what are we gonna do with him?"

"bring him in for questioning. We're basically the police of this town"

I turned off the iPad and gave it back to her.

--10 minutes later--

We walked into a bar with only 4 people inside. Annie walked up to the bartender and showed him a photo. He said something I couldn't hear.

Annie then went over to the table and placed the picture down.

"Have you seen this man?" She asked

"No, we haven't. But you two should run home to your dadd-" a man said reaching to grab Annie's ass. Before I could walk up and beat the shit out of him, Annie grabbed his wrist twisting behind his back.

She reached into his back pocket and pulled out drugs I had seen him hide when we entered.

"You could serve 3-5 years in prison but if you answer my questions I'll cut you a deal," Annie said.

The other two men ran up to us and tried to attack us but they were on the floor in seconds. I heard the doors open and in walked Keith Shadis.

Once he saw us he stopped and held out his wrists. I was surprised. Annie pulled out a pair of handcuffs and enclosed them around his wrists.

"Long time no see Annie. How's your father?" Keith asked like he was a friend.

"Just shut up so we can get this over with"

We walked out the doors and walked back to the warehouse. Annie's father was standing in the middle of the open room with his arms crossed.

"Nice to see you again Mr. Shadis. I hope you didn't cause my girl too much trouble" Mr. Leonhardt said with a smirk on his face.

"not at all Mr. Leonhardt. Although she did mess up some of my friends" Mr. Shadis said.

"Annie? Do you have a reason"

"self-defence" is all she said with a stoic face

Two people wearing the same uniform walked over and led Mr. Shadis away. The entire time I had kept my head down so Mr. Leonhardt wouldn't see my face.

Annie handed over the iPad and started to walk towards the door. She tapped my wrist, signalling for me to follow her. I turned around and walked out the door, following her to her house.

--10 minutes later--

We walk in the door and headed to Annie's room. I immediately started to take off my jacket. She handed me a pair of PJs I had left here.

After I changed I just cuddled with Annie.

"Why did you bring me along" I said, looking up at Annie.

"What do you mean?"

"Why did you bring me along on your mission," I said, now sitting up. She does the same and looks me in the eyes.

"I'm actually not sure," she said looking down at her hands. I grabbed her hands, intertwining our fingers.

I saw tears brimming in her eyes.

"it's okay," I said softly. She hugged me and cried quietly on my shoulder. I rubbed her back soothingly.

I don't know why she's crying but that doesn't matter. All that matters is that I'm here for her.

I'm starting to post chapters later and I don't know why. I keep losing focus. I'm really busy the rest of the week so the next chapter probably won't be up until next week.
