CHAPTER FIFTEEN | SULKING INTERRUPTED

"I can't believe they're making you go on a field trip on a Saturday," Bella whined into her phone's speaker.
"It'll be done by three."
Peter was laughing at her, but Bella was firm in her whining. He, Ned, MJ, and Abby were all going to the MoMA for their art elective class. If Bella hadn't taken theatre this year, she'd be on the field trip with them. Instead, she was stuck in her apartment on a warm, sunny, Saturday all alone with nothing to do. Even Alex had left her all alone! Blake's family was having some kind of Memorial Day party up in the Hamptons, which meant he was gone for the weekend.
"Well, that's far too long," Bella scoffed. "What am I supposed to do all day? Sulk?"
"As if you're not already sulking," Peter snickered.
Unfortunately, it had gotten to the point where Peter knew her too well. She uncrossed her legs and relaxed her body on the couch. She would not sulk.
"Whatever," she sighed. "I'll see you later?"
"Yeah. I should be back at my place by four."
"I'll see you at four, then," Bella said, biting down on her lip.
"Sounds good. Love you."
"Love you too."
And with that, Bella hung up her phone and prepared herself for a seven hour long Criminal Minds marathon.
She wasn't even halfway through the first episode when she heard a giant commotion outside. Groaning, Bella turned the TV off and opened the window to the sounds of wind and screams. And a giant, donut shaped spaceship in the sky.
"Shit," she hissed under her breath.
Wasting no time, Bella ran to her room for the suit Tony had made her.
"Perfect," she muttered as she pulled her hair into a bun so it wouldn't get in her way. "This is just so perfect. Exactly the way I wanted to spend my Saturday." Once fully dressed, she tapped the side of her mask. "Gordon, where's the spaceship stationed."
"34th and 7th, ma'am. Mr. Stark is already there."
"Beautiful," Bella said a bit sarcastically before teleporting to 34th and 7th.
Just as Gordon has said, Tony was already at the scene. He was with three men — two of whom Bella did not know, but the third was Bruce freaking Banner — and they seemed to be in the middle of a face off with.
