Chapter 1- 2 years later
Two years have gone by and the whole city evacuated but me. I stayed in a small home, in the middle of nowhere. After that creature disappeared, we had discovered that there was a new planet in our galaxy. I don't remember what we called it, but all that matters now is that I'm still alive.
I sat down under the raging hot sun, chugging down an ice cold can of beer. My shotgun was held in my right hand as I shot at the monsters that tried to attack me. I've grown stronger since the first day I laid eyes on those freaks.
You could say I was a bit lonely, but it's not like I care now.
I saw one of them running up to me like a tiger chasing its prey. I sighed as I lifted up my gun to aim. Finally, I shot with the bullet striking it in the head. He fell down instantly and rolled a few more feet with a sandy trail following. Blood flowed around the body, shining in the sun. I use to be confused on why it was the same color as us, but after a while, I forgot about it.
I set down my beer next to my lawn chair and began walking up to the dead creature. The sun's rays hit my eyes, blinding my direction. Fortunately, I was still able to see the body.
I knelt down to it and grabbed his head. Of course you always want to make sure it's still dead, so I snapped its neck, hearing a crackling sound of breaking bones. Finally, I began to drag it to the large pit I have dug to throw in the dead bodies. I threw him down in it and watched as crows and rats flew and ran away.
I walked back to my house, but felt as if a strange presence was watching me. I looked at my surroundings and in the distance I saw someone walking; trudging. The figure had fallen a minute later and I wanted to walk away, but I grew curious on the figure, so I began to run to it.
Closer and closer it grew more visible. I felt a strange feeling of joy, thinking it was another human.
I knelt down to the body, and noticed my joy was crushed when I saw the shiny sharp tail. This creature did not look as if it were thirsty for blood, but more scared.
I examined it closely and at the last minute, decided to bring him to my house.
