The folder wasn't much help. I was however surprised that his address was in this folder. I was even more surprised that his address was here, in Seattle. "What is it with this city?" "Why is everything coming back to Seattle?" I remember asking myself.

I did however go that address in Seattle. It was empty and it looked like it had been empty for years. One room caught my attention though, so many drawings everywhere. I didn't quite understand them, so I left. I remember growing irritated. I wanted to find Zayn, before heading out to England. His file was useless, so I took it back. I did what any other person could and lied.

"With all due to respect, do you really think I would lie to you?" I looked at Gorden. "I need to find Zayn. If you know something, a number, address, please give it to me. Gorden, me and my uncle Dan are urgently looking for him. He's a good friend of his."

Took a couple weeks, but I finally got an address. "Nevada?" I remember asking Gorden. "He's in Henderson, Nevada?"

"Everything lead back to that address." Gorden reassured me. "What is it exactly that you're doing? I know people too well to know when they're up to something."

"Come with me." I asked him. "Yeah I kind of bullshitted you, but it was unintentional. My mom knew him and I want to get answers. I'm sure my father has told you stuff about my mom, Jamie. She was skinned alive, all the suspects are dead? He's the last thing I got."

Believe it or not, he went with me. I convinced him to travel to Nevada with me to find this Zayn guy.

"Zayn Malik?" Gorden showed an older man his badge.

"Yeah?" He wipes his hands on a towel. "That's me."

Let me just tell you something, my mom had great taste in men. For a forty year old, he still looked good. When I first met him, I didn't think this way about him. I was just hungry for answers at the time.

"Sheriff Gorden," he placed his badge back in his pocket. "I'd like to have a word with you if that's okay?"

"Is there a problem here officer?" A lady stepped into our conversation.

"Nicole," Zayn stepped in and shook his head. "Everything's okay."

Zayn and I made eye contact before walking towards the front of the mechanic's shop.

"Is everything okay?" Zayn asked.

"I have someone who would like to speak with you." He steps aside and I'm in full view. "I'm sure you remember Luna, Jamie's daughter."

He froze, just like me, but I was just kind of like out of it. He was full out frozen. "Luna," he didn't blink. "You," he cleared his throat and crossed his arms. "I don't- I don't know who you are."

I remember being completely shocked at his words. I remember staring at him in not only disappointment, but anger. I also remember questioning myself and well, my life. I was hurt. How could he just throw me under the bus like that? Heck, even Gorden stared at me in confusion.

"Uh," Gorden stepped towards him. "Perhaps we didn't explain things correctly."

"I don't know her." Zayn repeated.

"I-"

"So you're just going to pretend like you don't know me." I interrupted Gorden and stared at Zayn. "Was my mom just all fucking bullshit to you too?"

He shook his head and stared at the floor for a few seconds. When he looked back up his eyes were full of tears. "I'm sorry," he sniffled. "I'm so sorry Luna."

The funny part of this was that I didn't realize I had my phone in my hand and I threw it on the floor in anger and walked away. Honestly, I was never a violent person. When someone like Lillie raises you, you're going to find yourself saying 'aw' whenever a baby with chubby cheeks is around and crying whenever a dog or some sort of animal gets killed in a movie. I'm a grown ass women and I still panic when Nemo almost gets sliced trying to escape out of the filtering tube at the dentist. I found it rare for me to be a violent person.

That night, Gorden and I returned to our hotel in Vegas. I remember not being able to sleep. Zayn was everything I was thinking about. I was angry, aggravated, and overall disappointed. He was the only one that could've actually helped me out on this and he failed me.

"Luna," Gorden knocked on my door. "We got an hour." I opened the door and rolled my suitcase out. We got in his car and drove away. We went back to Seattle and continued with our lives. That following week, I was working with Gorden on something and Giselle, our intern that works at the front office, came in one day. "Detective Luna?"

I glanced up and said, "Not quite detective yet, Giselle. Call me Luna." I walked over to her. "What's up?"

"I apologize." She smiled. "Your uncle is here to see you."

I narrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Dan?"

She nodded. "Do I let him in?"

I looked over at Gorden for permission and he nodded. "I'll go there in a second, just send him to my office. Thanks."

"Dan's here?" Gorden asked.

"Yeah, I guess. I'm gonna go see what's up." I walked into my office.

"Sorry Dan, I-" I paused when I saw Zayn standing next to him. "What are you doing here." I stated as I walked over to my desk. "Am I finally worth your time, Zayn." I sat down.

"It was never my intention to hurt your feelings." Zayn said.

"Oh, no hard feelings." I smiled at him. "Please," my smile faded. "Take a seat."

I looked at my uncle waiting for him to speak, but he just stared back at me.

"I uh, I got you this." Zayn pulled out a brand new phone and placed it on the desk. He gave me a weak smiled. Without loosing eye contact with him, I slid the device off my desk making it hit the floor with a loud thump.

"Luna please-"

"Please what!? I interrupted Dan. "Am I suppose to act like nothing happened? What is this, some sick game of play pretend with the both of you?" I huffed. "I'm sick of everyone lying to me. Everyone is full of shit!" I sighed. "Why are you even here? I have a job to do."

"You remind me so much of Jamie." Zayn told me.

"It's not like I'm her daughter or anything." I retorted and he laughed.

At that moment, I really captured Zayn's appearance. He looked tired, depressed, and the bags underneath his eyes made him look older. Yet his laughter took away all that and made him look somewhat presentable.
