Chapter 5: A Reunion of Two Brothers

Meanwhile, Mario and Peach just exited out of the orange door. Merlon was waiting for them. "Oh ho, welcome back friends! How was your journey this time? Did you find Merlee and obtain the Pure Heart?" Merlon asked the pair. Mario nodded. "Yes, as a matter of fact, we did." Peach replied. "Merlee said that we would need the power of 5 heroes to save the world... Yes, Merlee said that..." Tippi said. 

"Oh ho, is that so? There is more than one hero? Well, if Mario and Peach are two such heroes, then you still need three more..." Merlon said. They felt a rumble. "Look! Over there!" Merlon shouted. Mario and Peach panicked as the ground shooked. "The void has grown..." Merlon said. The void had indeed grown. "Hmmm... I fear that our time grows short dear friends... I will return to the Light Prognosticus. You young ones seek the next Heart Pillar." 

He said, then he went off, before stopping. "But first... Allow me to tell of something that the mystical book has already divulged to me. One person will determine whether the Light or Dark Prognosticus predicts truly... Both books refer to her as the 'woman in green,' but I know not what it means... I must return to my study to solve this conundrum." He said, then turned to leave.

Just before Merlon could leave, the same villager from before arrived. "M-M-MASTER MERLON! B-BAD NEWS AGAIN! A MAN IN GREEN FELL FROM THE SKY!" The villager cried out. "What?!" Merlon asked. "A man in green is down in the area where I found that pretty girl!" The villager explained. Peach blushed. Mario was curious about this. "Take us to him immediately then! Mario, Peach, come as well." Merlon ordered. 

The villager lead them to the same place. Mario and Peach arrived at the same spot and saw a fainted Luigi. "Hey look! It's Luigi! At least he's okay...." Peach said in relief. Mario was so happy to see his brother was back reunited with him in Flipside, even if he was passed out. "You know this man?" Merlon asked. Mario nodded, he explained this was his brother, Luigi. 

"Your brother eh? Do you think he could be the third hero you were looking for?" Merlon asked. Mario thought for a moment and then nodded. "You'd better get him some more of that soup then. We'll keep watch of him." Merlon said.

Mario and Peach nodded and went on the double and got another Spicy Soup for Luigi. Luigi sipped the soup. "Mmmmm..." He groaned. "Oh ho. He's waking up." Merlon said happily. Mario called out happily that he was reunited with Luigi. "Luigi! You're okay! Thank goodness you're alright!" Peach cried out happily. Luigi turned to them. 

"Princess! You're ok!" Luigi called, he hugged Mario crying. "Mario! I thought I'd never see you again!" He said happily. Mario hugged Luigi happily. "Uh... Luigi, where's Lianna?" Peach asked curiously. "Wait, she's not with you?" Luigi asked. "N-no... She isn't... neither is Bowser..." Peach replied. Mario nodded in agreement. "Oh no! She must be in that castle! We have to rescue her!" Luigi called out. "Slow down there boy." Merlon said.

"Yeah... take it easy..." Peach replied. "Come to my house. You can explain everything there." Merlon instructed. "Ok... ok..." Luigi replied. Mario, Peach and Luigi headed back to hear all the details about Luigi. Luigi told them the story. 

"And the next thing I knew, I was here. Gotta admit, that soup was tasty." Luigi said. "I know. It's delicious." Peach said. Mario explained about the whole quest with the five heroes and the Pure Hearts. "So you're on another adventure eh bro? I'll come with you." Luigi said happily. 

For once, Mario let him come on the journey! Unlike the previous two adventures with Bowser and the Shadow Queen... "Alright! It's Luigi's time to shine! I won't let you down bro." He said happily. Luigi joined the party.

Mario showed Luigi the Yellow Pure Heart. "We have to find the Heart Pillar." Peach explained. "Okie dokie. Let's-a go!" Luigi replied. Mario, Luigi and Peach headed off to find the Heart Pillar, and they soon found it! They placed the yellow heart in the pillar, and a yellow door appeared. Mario and the crew headed up to the Yellow Door and entered inside.
