I am an empty void smushed into a teenage girls body
I'm just writing now
Words flow from my dissociated brain to someone else's fingertips
To someone else's world
I'm not here
I am in the clouds
Soaring, dreaming
Watching
These eyes are a crystal ball spying on her
That young, beautiful, vibrant girl
Hairline fractures show the darkness beneath
She reaches desperately for love, but none feels right to her
Unfulfilled, she breaks another heart
She doesn't want to do this
She wants it to stop
Please let me stop
Breathing in the dark air and smoke
Will this fix me?
Everything is getting farther away
I'm not here
I follow the cloud of fruity smoke into the atmosphere
Head spinning, eyes squinting
My stomach churns but I don't control this body
I don't feel it
Or anything
Smoke dissipates as we laugh to cover our tears
As we lay back, rivers of stars flow from our dark, sunken eyes
We are lost
But in the end
We can't change
So embrace this life
With its ups and downs
And love
with everything
