The Shark Tooth serenely floated through space, its blue fire engine roaring and bursting from time to time. Violet stood on the deck and, while many of the crew members fussed around, idly contemplated them, leant on the bulwark of the ship. It had been three weeks by Earthly calculations since she joined the pirates. She had already been deployed on many covert team missions and, with her friend Zehu, had completed them quite well. She would often have fun with Zehu and Baxus in her free time. She more or less got on well with the Dionoids Raido, Rodam, and Jasheen, and was on neutral terms with the engine expert Salima, Reptiloid Yuko, and other crew members whom she had seen. She practically never spoke with Diana since this latter often eyed her with scorn, and could barely see the captain since he spent most of the time in his cabin. Other than that, everything felt peaceful and she had more or less gotten used to her new lifestyle.

However, winds of change were about to blow soon – Violet was to be reminded that the Shark Tooth Pirates lived not only by peacefully trading in city harbours.

"A ship! I see a ship on the horizon!"

At the harbinger's exclamation, everyone rushed to the prow. They indeed noticed a sumptuous vessel advancing towards them – most likely a merchant ship. Jasheen instantly gave out commands:

"In positions! Steer towards that vessel! Let's give our guests a hearty welcome..."

The pirates readied their weapons. Violet noticed how Baxus too, grinned with excitement and built up his explosive gear.

I've never seen them in action since my abduction back in Yordie's Inn. From what I remember, they weren't really merciful back there. I already feel bad for that merchant ship...

"Doroy!" Jasheen looked up at the harbinger, "The ship's close. Hoist the colours!"

"Aye aye, Commander!"

Doroy, a Dragonoid species (humanoid dragons who were creators of the Reptiloid species) raised a grey flag with a skull depiction that carried a blue headband, had a red robotic left eye, held a laser-dagger in its mouth, and was crossed by a laser-sword and a cyber pistol. It was an infamous symbol of the Shark Tooth Pirates – the Cyber Sammy. Once noticed this flag, the merchants began screaming and running up and down:

"Pirates! Pirates are coming!"

It was not long before the Shark Tooth approached the merchant ship. The pirates threw laser hooks on its sails, jumped onto its deck, and grappled with the poor aliens. They heartlessly mangled and blew them with their weapons, no matter how the latter ones screamed and begged for mercy. All of those smiling folks whom Violet often had fun with – Jasheen, Yuko, Doroy, even her own team member Rodam, seemed wrathful space bandits now, soaking up in the enemies' blood. And Baxus... Only now did she recall that this friendly guy, whom she hung out with every day, was, in fact, a merciless space criminal to have blown up her fellow human Leah and her master Yordie, along with all the rich and drunken customers, back in the inn. He even got so carried away as to slightly burn her by accident. Now, beholding him with that same bloodthirsty grin as he bombed various parts of the sumptuous ship and coldbloodedly blew people up so that only ashes were left, she realised that Baxus too, just like Zehu, was not all that met the eye: he was not just a fellow human of hers but a monstrous Bakhal – creatures infamous for carrying hearts of stone and nerves of steel, thus having no remorse upon anyone, even their very own kind.
