Malik watched Elizabeth walk away. He followed her blonde head, flowing with the other students down the hall. Her hair seemed to shine under the school lighting. It became gold strands in his eyes. He was mesmerized.
A girl bumped into him. He looked down at her and quickly took in her dull red hair and freckled face. She looked down, avoiding his eyes, and apologized many times, clearly embarrassed. He smiled and forgave her. She continued to look down, and he noticed her cheeks burning red.
The halls were thinning now as everyone who had lunch made their way to the cafeteria and those who didn't, made their way to study hall. Malik continued to stare at the girl, when a feeling of recognition entered him. He narrowed his eyes subtly.
The girl glanced up and met his icy blue stare with dark green eyes. Malik's eyes widened as he recognized the eyes he stared into. Quickly he grabbed her arm and pulled her down the hall and out of the nearest exit. The girl didn't protest as she knew this was coming. She knew this would happen.
Malik dragged her out of the school and onto the school lawn. Looking left and right, he saw a nearby thicket of trees and pulled her there.
Once in the cover of the trees, he let got of her hand and faced her. He crosses his arms and glared down at her. She smiled sweetly up at him.
"What are you doing her, Em?" Malik asked, sternly. She continued to smile and walked slowly over to him. He didn't back up as she stood directly in front of him and reached a hand up to touch his cheek.
"I have missed you, Maliki" she said softly. Tracing his collarbone, he resisted the urge to flinch at her touch. It wasn't cold but it set his nerves with unease. He looked her over. Dressed in a green plaid skirt as dark as her eyes and a light brown knit sweater.
"Why are you dressed that way" he asked, raising a brow. She laughed and slid her hands down his chest and circled his waist.
"I came to visit you, and I needed a disguise. I look cute, yes?" She asked looking up and batting her eye lashes at his cutely, hugging him tighter. "Didn't you miss me too?"
"Emerald, you need to leave. You being here is disputing my mission." He said, pulling away from her. "Go back home."
She whined as he pushed her away. "That's not fair! Brother gets to stay, any can't I?" She screeched, stomping her foot childishly.
"Emera-" he started.
"I can blend in too. And help! I can trap the little tram-" she started to plead, but halted at the glare he gave her.
"Leave. I do not need you here" he ordered, turning away from her and headed back to the school.
Emerald stood among the trees, simmering mad and muttering to herself. Growling softly, she turned deeper into the woods, shaking off her form and running away.
