Mermaids & Marauders: Since You've Been Gone

Chapter 11

Harry witnessed his godmother fall head over heels for his potions professor. He discussed this with Ron and Hermione. Ron was all about how someone could see something in that git. Hermione was all about the history that professor Holt and professor Snape must share. 

'Why don't you go talk to her again then, tell her how you feel. She told you the truth before, I trust her', Hermione said. 'Maybe I do that, also she is the only family I got left', Harry pointed out. 'All the more reason to get to know her Harry, she came to you first. I think it's your turn now', Hermione said. 

'Look, there she is', Hermione said and she waved at her new favorite professor. 'Hello professor Holt and professor Snape', she said cheerfully. Snape ignored her, but professor Holt cheered back at her. 'Hello miss Granger, how are we on this fine morning', Katie asked. 'Good professor', Hermione said. 

Harry wanted to talk with his godmother so badly, but with Snape always in her presence, he just backed out. 

Katie saw Harry struggle to say something. 'Harry, shall we go for a walk?', Katie suggested. 'Yes, uuh Katie, I would love that', Harry said. 'It is professor Holt for you Potter', Severus sneered. 

'Severus my love, I told Harry he could call me that, he is my godson after all', Katie said. 'You are lucky I love you', Severus whispered. Katie giggled. 'You mind if I go for a walk with my godson', Katie said. 'If you must', Severus pouted. 

'I'll be back before you know it', Katie promised with a quick peck on his lips. 

Harry and Katie walked over the schoolgrounds towards the Black Lake. 'What is on your mind Harry, tell me. You can trust me', Katie said. 'Can I?', Harry blurted out. 'You question it, why?', Katie said a little sad. 

'Because you are with professor Snape, he hates my guts', Harry said. 'Oh Harry, he doesn't hate you, just because I'm in a relationship with your potions professor doesn't mean you can't confide in me. Everything that you say stays between us, unless I think your a danger to someone else', Katie said winking. 

Harry laughed. He felt a lot better now he said where he stood. 'I'll try my best, but all my life I had people around me, parental people, who just don't care, think about the Dursley's', Harry said. 'I know that Harry, I also wanted to talk to you about that. How would you feel if the next holiday it is just going to be me and you', Katie said. 'I usually stay at Hogwarts for holidays besides summer', Harry said. 

'Well, how about we start with a little bit of change in your life, we can go away for a few days', Katie said. 'Does professor Snape knows about this, because I don't want to get anymore on his bad side then I already am', Harry said. 

'Oh Harry, you are on nobody's bad side, but you see that one day. I'll talk to Severus, he can miss me for a few days', Katie said. 'What are we going to do then?', Harry asked. 'Whatever you like, I can take you anywhere, we can apparate anywhere we want, where is your choice. Think about it, baby steps okay', Katie said smiling. 

Harry smiled at his godmother. He was happy that she asked for more time with him, he wanted too, but he never had a parental figure in his life and doesn't know how to deal with it. 

Hermione and Ron came towards them. 'Hey Harry, we would go see Hagrid now remember', Hermione said. 'Harry, I really think you shouldn't go any further then Hagrits hut, I could come with you. I find it wiser to come with you with the Dementors who are unpredictable. I think I should come with you', Katie said worried for Harry. 

'Professor Holt, I don't mean to intrude, but we are at Hogwarts longer then you, it's Hagrids hut we are going to, not the Northpool, I'm pretty sure that we are safe', Hermione said. 

'Okay, I got it. I'm being a mother am I, a little bit too much of a mother right?', Katie asked biting her nails. 'Yes, but it doesn't matter, I'm glad that I know now that someone actually cares, but I don't need 24 hour protection, even though there is a killer on the loose that wants to kill me', Harry said. 'Okay, well if you need me, you know where to find me', Katie said a little bit embarressed. 

Katie walked back to the castle. Back to Severus his private quarters where she spend the night last night. 

She knocked. 'Enter', Severus said. He was reading a book and smiled when his beautiful hot girlfriend walked trough that door. But he sensed that his beautiful girlfriend was distressed about something. Also about the way she was sitting down on the couch. 

'Speak your mind my love', Severus said. 'I suck... I suck at parenting. I truely suck', Katie stated. 'What happened?', Severus asked. 'Well, I asked Harry to think about something, something that I want to speak to you about now. I may have suggested that next school holiday me and Harry could go somewhere. You know, to get to know each other better', Katie said. 

'What was his ensure', Severus asked. 'He would think about it, I also suggested he should think about it. After that, Ron and Hermione came along and said that they had to go see Hagrid and I went all protective about Harry, too smothering. That I would come along for protection', Katie said. 

Severus grinned. 'What?', Katie said. 'You my love... you where thinking like a mother. Only Potter never had a mother, so how do you expect him to react', Severus said putting his arm around his girlfriend. 'Since when did you got so wise, can you please call him Harry when your with me at least, it's weird you calling my godson Potter', Katie said. 

'I'll try, but I can't promise', Severus said. 'Fair', Katie said as she pulled her shirt over her head. 'What are you doing?', Severus asked. 'Getting naked, after that I want you to get naked and then we're going to have lots of seks and have a great night of sleep afterwards, how does that sound', Katie smirked. 'Hmmm like the perfect end of a perfect day', Severus said and he pulled her towards him so she would lay on top. Katie giggled.
