Mermaids & Marauders: Since You've Been Gone

Chapter 08

Harry's mouth hung open. He had a godmother. Questions were going trough his mind. This young woman was his godmother. Well mermaid godmother actually. 

'Harry, please say something', Katie said. 'I just wished I knew it sooner, then I didn't had to live at the Dursley's, having those awfull summers with them', Harry said. 

Katie went to sit on the side of his bed. 'Now I have to tell you something that is perhaps even more difficult to understand. But when you choose to live with me, you can't stay with me during the summer, I am obligated to live those summers in the sea. It's kind of a binding contract that my dad arranged for me, Albus arranged a better contract then before. Before it was coming on land once a month. Whenever I was free, I went to the Potters. Went to see you. I've held you when you where just a baby', Katie said proudly. 

'I... I understand. There are laws under water too right?', Harry asked. 'Yes, mermaid laws. I'm already a special case since I'm a halfbreed, which is the same thing as a halfblood, you are formiliar with that term right?', Katie asked. 'Yes, I am', Harry said. 

'My mom works for our mermaid Queen, so that is also why my rules are more easy for me, I can only choose once I marry someone, that's the deal', Katie said. 

'Why haven't you gotten married yet, you could have married a merman while living under water', Harry said. 'Merman are so arrogant, full of themselves, no... I always felt that my future husband would be on land', Katie said. 

'How do I call you now, mom? Professor, I'm really confused', Harry confessed. 'Just take your time Harry, I just want you to know that I'm here for you, even though it didn't looked like I was there for you the past 13 years. I was trying to be', Katie explained. 

Harry nodded and decided that he wanted to hug his godmother. She was nice to him from the moment they met. She explained her reason of absenty for the past 13 years. He just had to forgive her for not telling him sooner. He needed someone in his life like Katie. Someone who understood him. Who understood the world. 

Katie accepted the hug Harry gave him gladly. 'Can I tell Harry and Ron your my godmother?', Harry asked. 'Yes, they are your friends, but I'd rather not have you tell anyone else just yet', Katie said. Harry nodded.

For some reason he fully trusted this woman. He had that feeling from the start, now he finally knew why she seemed so strangly formiliar. 

Katie looked at her watch, it was passed midnight. 'Oh Harry my dear, you really have to go to sleep right now, I've told you everything now, except one other story about my biological father, but I shall tell you that some other time, please try to rest now', Katie said and after giving Harry a kiss on his cheek she left. 

She decided to not go to her chambers, not her own. She decided to pay a visit to Severus. Maybe have a final drink before going to bed. 

She knocked on his door. She knocked again. There was no response. She pushed against his door a bit and noticed it was open. She noticed a broken bottle on the floor. Some blood as well. 

'Severus, it's me', Katie said. 'Katie', Severus slurred. Katie sighted. He was drunk. 'Katie, my thumb, I hurt', Severus slurred and he talked like a little kid. 

Katie grabbed his hand softly and placed a kiss on the wound. 'Mermaids have heeling powers remember', Katie said. 

'Katie, I regret how I treated you when we were kids, I regret I called you a halfbreed. If I wasn't such an ass back then we might still be together now, we... we might have had kids together, be married', Severus said. 

'Severus, hush now. Your drunk, I'll help you in bed. Your lucky it's Christmas holidays from now on and that you don't have classes to teach tomorrow', Katie said. 

'Let me help you with your cloths, were are your sleeping clothing', Katie asked. 'I sleep in my trousers now, I'm an adult. It's more sexy', Severus said. He still slurred a bit, but less now Katie healed his wound. 

Katie giggled. The many buttons from Severus his cloak took a while, but Katie managed to do just fine. Severus tried to maintain his balance. 

'Severus, it's nothing like I haven't seen before', Katie said in a teasing way. 'Oh no, you haven't seen me yet, you have seen the younger version, not the elder version', Severus said. 'The 18+ version', Katie said. 

He was right. Once Katie fully removed his cloak she saw his bare chest. It was muscular and very sexy. 'You can do your pants perfectly fine by yourself', Katie said. 

'Now move your ass into bed and stay there', Katie commanded while she was tucking him in. 'Stay with me Katie', Severus said. Katie sighted. 'No, Severus. I don't think that is a good idea', she said. 'Please, I promise I won't do anything weird. I just don't want to be alone tonight', Severus said. 

'I don't have anything to wear', Katie said. 'In my closet there is this white long shirt you can use', Severus said. 

Katie crawled into bed next to him. 'I swear, no funny business, if you do I'm going to be gone in seconds', Katie warned. 'I won't do anything, I promise', Severus said. He pulled her towards him to have her in a spoon position. Katie could feel his manhood rising. She tried so hard to ignore it. She was just holding his arms around her tight. As tight as she could. The next morning will be much more embarressed for him then for her.
