After she told her story, Axel sat there quite. A bunch of emotions and feelings going through his body. He knew he couldn't be mad at Ayliah for her life before she came here, it just hurt him to actually hear it all. He pushed those feelings aside and taking a breath.
He looks over at Ayliah, frustration evident on her face, as she fiddled with her fingers as she kept looking down at them and then at Axel. Pushing everything aside, as now was not the time to dwell on it. He wasn't sure exactly what to say. Sorry he's an idiot? When they both already know that. So he went with Sheriff instinct to find out more about him. Plus he needed his name so he could see if he was back in Seattle or if he was missing.
"Has he messaged you lately, or contacted any of your friends or family, asking about you," he questions her to see if he had made any contact with her.
"No, this is the longest it gone since we broke up," he hated he had to talk about this Liam guy.
"Alright. What's his last name? I'm going to see if I can find out if he's back in Seattle or if he disappeared."
"Miller, also just incase, his address 472 Wellington Ave," and Axel nods before putting the address in his phone.
"Alright well that's enough of that for now, how about we grab some breakfast. I have to meet up with Jarred in a bit and we'll see what we can find," he stands up offering his hand to her hoping that she would take.
"Who's Jarred," she asks just as she places her small hand in Axels large one.
The feeling of her soft hand in his made him overly joyed as he laced their fingers together and he had stupidly large smile on his face and he didn't even care. The electrical current buzzed through his hand and up his arm to his heart which was beating unsteadily rapid.
They walked to the front door, Ayliah grabbing her coat and purse, before they walk out and she locks the door before he go down the steps towards his truck.
"Jarred is like a brother to me, one of my best friends along with Derek. We all grew up together, Derek is our cl—, our group leader is what we call him," and he chuckles awkwardly almost telling Ayliah that Derek was their Clan Leader and he chided himself. Once everything was sorted out he would tell Ayliah everything.
About him being a Bear Shifter and he prayed she wouldn't run screaming, god only knows how much that would shatter his heart. It would hurt like hell but he wouldn't give up.
"He's also a officer and works for with me. Though I don't know how he even passed with his immaturity, all the guy does is joke around," his lips tilted upwards. Even though Jarred drove him nuts he couldn't deny he didn't love his brother, even when he did piss Axel off early in the damn mornings.
Ayliah looks over seeing the barely there smile, and smiles at him. When he smiles, this lightness comes to his face, making him look younger than he is. That's when she realized she didn't know his age, she placed him mid to late 20s.
"How old are you?," she blurted out, looking mortified. Her eyes widen and her mouth falls open, she couldn't believe she just spit that out.
The look on her face had Axel bursting out laughing, his hand tighten around hers as he continued to laugh, shaking his head at her.
"I'm 26, turning 27 on November 3rd," his laughing dying down though his smile remains.
"Oh," she says a bit lamely.
She knew a bit about him from when they went out for lunch a few days ago, but it was more just how she was liking the town, where she planned on staying and then just normal pleasantries.
