Chapter 33

Axel follows Ayliahs scent, the person not even realizing to cover her scent, making it easy for him to track her, and he rolls his eyes at that, glad they were obviously too stupid to think to cover her scent. He was racing through the trees, jumping over anything that was in his way, he could hear in the distance that he was coming up to creek and in the far distance behind him he could he could hear paws thundering on the ground, Derek and Jarred behind him catching up. He was at the creek when he heard feet running on the other side, a mile or so out and he jumps through the water, his coat of fur soaked, his skin chilled with the cold weather and water, he jumps out trucking through the mud, he was now off Clan property and on unclaimed territory, he was getting closer, he could hear feet running more loudly.

"What the fuck?!" A loud voice yells out into the air and Axel stills, he recognizes the voice. Lilly's and he tries not to make any noise so he could sneak up on them, him and his bear ready to attach.

A loud groan was heard, the sound more male and he stops behind a bunch of trees and bushes, hiding him perfectly that he could see what was going on. A tall man, half the size of Axel wearing all black, stood in front of Lilly, and draped over his shoulders was Ayliah and he almost growls out loud, catching himself in time.

"I don't have time for your shit Lilly," the man talks impatiently, his face showing agitation. Axel has a feeling he knew who that was and his he was about to jump out when Lilly's voice stops him dead, shocked.

"You don't have time for you mate?! Are you fucking kidding me Liam!," Her voice a loud shrill, her eyes holding a burning rage. He was right the man was Liam, Ayliah ex and Lilly's mate. He couldn't believe it.

"What the fuck are you do with that," she spits out in disgust and rage when she notices him holding Ayliah and Axel grows tense, not liking how she was talking about his mate.

"Seriously, you know who it fucking is Lilly, don't play stupid. It's not a good look for you," Liam growls out in anger, his eyes glowing dangerously. Axel couldn't scent the man, he had to be covering it.

"Fuck you Liam. Why. Do. You. Have. Her," she growls out threatening, each word back up with a step towards him, her hands fisted in anger.

"You really don't get it do you?," Liam sighs out, shaking his head at her.

"I never cared for you Lilly, shit I thought you would figure that out since I didn't want to be seen with you, I didn't want to be with you and I kept dodging you," Liam forces out, pushing it into her.

"It was always Ayliah," Liam says in a loving way that made Axel ready to tear him apart.

"What the fuck is so god damn special about this bitch! First Axel then my own god damn mate," she screams and Liam drops Ayliah to grab Lilly around his throat and choke her, making her gasp for air as he squeezes tighter around her neck.

"Watch your fucking tone," he says dropping her to the ground he knees smack into the dirt, her face a mask of hurt. Her own mate didn't even want her, when she was waiting for him forever.

"I made mistakes I'm not proud of, but I realized I couldn't be without her, I love her. So I had to come back and get her, I just didn't anticipate her finding someone else, something I'm not at all happy with," he voice disapproving as he explains, paces infront of Lilly, shaking his head.

"Once I found out I was your mate, I figured I could use you. Your hatred and jealousy towards her came in handy, it was easy to make everything think it was you. I couldn't resist seeing her, so I broke into her place to watch her sleep, she was so peaceful. She looked like an angel and I knew I had to have her again," his voice going gentle at then end, and Axel was ready to kill the bastard, Lilly was looking heartbroken each moment, the anger swirling with hurt that he used her and on some level Axel felt sympathy for her.

"I had trashed your store the next day, sorry but it needed to be done, I figured that idiot would go there and see the mess and I hoped you would try to cling to him as I showed no care and you did! And even got mad cursing his mate, and you told your brother that seen Axel racing to her place after you left from meeting up with me," he held no remorse, he more giddy and happy than anything. Axels anger was boiling, fury raged through him as he heard everything spew from his wretched mouth. His claws were dug deep into the ground, his body tense as he snarled quietly, huffing in rage.

"Of course I didn't know she would actually stay with that man, made things harder for me actually. So I told you to meet me saying we could be together and you fell for it, leaving without a word to find me. Adding to the suspicion that it was you, I didn't think you would come back so soon though, but oh well. I got what I wanted," Lilly's body was shaking, she was hurt and angry, she couldn't believe her own mate would use her. Sure she was jealous of Ayliah but she didn't hate her, she thought she was nice. She was upset she actually got Axels attention, but then she found her mate and she thought she could be happy, she could move on and start a life with Liam but he keep pushing her away, and she grew more jealous of Ayliah seeing how Axel treated her yet her own mate didn't even care about her, tears filled her eyes as her heart breaks in pain of her own mate not waiting her. Something that should never happen.

"I'm truly sorry Lilly, but I love Ayliah, always have and I know I was stupid in the past but I changed, I can be faithful for her," and Lilly scuffs at the sincerity in his voice, her fist clenched as tears rolled down her face, her throat sore and raw.

"I'm going to mate with her and bring her with my pack," he says almost dreamily and she looks at him shocked. Pack?

"What?," she whispers out in shock.

"Oh I never did tell you, didn't need to really. But I'm shifter just like you, but not a bear. A fox to be precise. Not full blooded though, my father was a fox shifter and my mother was human, I don't have the full effects of a fox but I can shift and cover my scent for hunting, made it easy to get to her without my scent tipping anyone off. I plan to mate with her and bring her to my pack so we can live together," he says happily, as Lilly looked at him bewildered.

It was then that Axel snapped, hearing that Liam was planning to take his mate away from him, drove him over the edge and he jumps out from behind the trees a large snarl ripping out as he bared his teeth, causing both them to whip around in shock before Liam smirks.

"It's about time you came out, you didn't think I didn't know you were there?," Liam's smirk and tone causing Axels bear to growl before charging at the man that had him in a fury.
