Did I really hear what I think I did?

I heard him coming towards me so I hid behind the trolley beside me. I watched him walk into the room and close the door.

I waited a couple of minutes before walking back in.

German was just sat there as if nothing had happened. I can't believe he would do that, not after everything we have been through together. I have to say something to him, but I don't know how!

He checked the time on his watch and stood up.

"Angie, we need to go."

"Okay."

I picked up my bag and walked out with him, thinking about the scene I saw a few minutes ago.

We walked out of the hotel and I searched for a car.

"We're walking."

"Oh."

I followed him down lots of roads until I couldn't walk anymore.

"Are we almost there, I can't walk any further!"

"That's fine, we are here." He said as he lead me over to a bench.

The view was beautiful, I have to admit, but I couldn't forget about what happened earlier.

German began to lean in and I knew he was going to kiss me, but I pulled away.

He looked at me for a second then tried again. But I pulled away once again.

"What is it?" He asked me.

"I need to ask you something."

"What?"

"Who is she?"

"Who is who?"

"You know who I mean!" I said beginning to get angry.

"I really don't."

I stood up.

"That girl you were talking to earlier, i believe you uttered the words, 'Angie won't find out'! Won't find out what, that you're cheating on me?" I was beginning to shout now, but German just looked confused. "You can stop acting German, I know what I saw! Now are you going to tell me who she is?"

"Angie listen, it's not what you think!"

"Then what is it?"

"She's not who you think!"

"So you are telling me that you have not been secretly meeting up with a girl all this time?"

"I have, but you need to let me explain."

"Forget it, I thought you were different!"

I turned to walk away.

When I turned the corner, I began to feel bad for everything I said to him.

I started to walk back, but when I got back to the bench, he wasn't there.

I sat down and looked to my feet.

I noticed there was a envelope there with the name Angie written across the front of it.

Quickly, I picked it up and opened it.

German's handwriting filled the card.

Angie,

I hope you like the anniversary surprise I made for you! Well I can't take all the credit, my friend helped me.

I feel so happy that we have been married for 15 years today!

I love you with all my heart.

German xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I can't believe I thought he was cheating on me!

I looked up and saw some balloons floating off into the distance. They were in the shape of a heart. German must have put alot of work into this.

I looked up again and saw more and more tiny heart shaped balloons crossing the sky one by one. I felt tears coming to my eyes and I didn't try to stop them flowing down my cheeks.
