tyler wakes up, a pain meeting his hips and bottom. he sits up but the pain becomes even worse and he lies back down. he notices josh isn't there, which makes tears prick in his eyes. he sighs, calling for josh and wiping his tears. josh rushes in the room and looks at tyler.

“what's wrong, ty?”

“it hurts.” tyler croaks in response. josh frowns and climbs into bed with his soulmate. “do you want medicine, love? i am so sorry.” josh apologizes, wrapping his arms around the other boy. “i don't need medicine. . . b-but can you help me get up?” tyler groans. josh nods and stands up, taking tyler’s hands. “ready? one, two, three.” josh boosts tyler up and tyler cries out. he almost falls on to the bed again until josh catches him. “you must be really sore, huh? i am so sorry." josh sighs.

“it’s okay, i’m okay. i promise.” tyler assures and kisses josh’s cheek. josh nods. “you wanna get some clothes on?” josh asks. tyler nods and grabs his boxers.

“tyler- i mean blurryface . . . uh, why are your eyes red?”

blurryface looks over at ashley.

“you know, that’s kinda like if i ask you why your eyes are brown. don’t you think? they’re just red. i don’t really have a purpose why, kid.”

blurry had said that so harshly. just . . . in such a harsh tone. it brings tears to the little girl’s eyes. “blurry!” josh scolds, picking ashley up. “what? i didn’t mean to. uh- what can i do?” blurry asks, slightly worried. “what you can do is shut up, blurry. just shut up. i’m so tired of you being so irritating and just rude all the time. why the hell are you like this? god, i wish tyler never had this side of him.”

ouch.

blurry stood, tears threatening to spill. josh disappears upstairs with the crying girl. blurryface didn’t mean to do that. he doesn’t mean to be mean. he sits on the couch next to jordan (struggling to sit because he is still sore) miserably, sighing. “it’s okay. little kids are sensitive like that, y’know?” jordan says, putting his hand on blurry’s shoulder. “yeah, it’s not that,” blurryface pauses. “i mean . . . have i been rude? i don’t mean to. this is just me. am i like this all the time?”

“i’m not sure, blurry. tyler doesn’t really let you out in front of us.”

blurryface sighs. “it must be me, then. i think i’m gonna let tyler take control now.” within a few minutes, tyler’s back. with those coffee eyes and his plump tan cheeks. “oh, hey, jordan.” tyler yawns. “oh, hi.” jordan responds. “so, what happened? why am i here? where’s josh?” tyler asks, looking around. jordan takes a deep breath . . .

“ashley asked blurryface why he had red eyes and he answered the question. . . but the way he said it was kind of harsh, so that upset ashley. so josh got pissed and he yelled at blurry. like . . . ‘why are you like this’ and ‘shut up’ and stuff like that. then josh picked ashley up and went upstairs. blurryface came and sat with me and asked if he was always this rude. and here we are now.”

tyler sucks in a breath and stands up. “i’m going to go find him.” he says before heading upstairs. he checks in his and josh’s room, finding josh there sitting at the bed. josh looks up from his phone, spotting tyler. “oh, you’re back.” josh says and stands up. “hey, jordan told me what happened. josh, don’t talk to blurryface like that. okay?” tyler orders. josh furrows his eyebrows. “what?”

“like . . . when you told him to shut up and asked him why he’s always so rude. blurryface is tough and he’s aggressive, but he’s sensitive. and he’ll never admit it, but he’s emotional. and he really likes you, josh. a lot. i can feel him screaming at me to stop talking about him, but josh, that hurt him.”

josh frowns. “i didn’t mean to.” he sighs. “it’s okay, josh. he knows you didn’t. but you know he didn’t mean to make ashley cry, right?”

“right.”

“well.. apologize to each other, m’kay? i’ll be back.”

tyler closes his eyes, releasing blurryface out once again.

blurry opens his red eyes, them meeting josh’s own eyes. “i’m sorry.” blurryface says first, “i don’t know why i’m like this, okay? i didn’t notice i was being so rude. i’m sorry, joshua.” josh hugs blurryface. “i'm sorry for lashing out on you. i was being childish. and don't apologize for being yourself. it's your personality, blurry.” josh tells him.

blurry hugs the other one back with a small grin. they both pull away before they stare at each other. “josh?”

“yeah, blurry?”

“can i kiss you?”

“wait, what??”

“it's the same thing as kissing tyler! we share a body . . . ” blurry sighs, blushing. “is tyler okay with it?”

“go ahead, blurry,” tyler mumbles.

blurryface smiles and leans in, kissing josh on his small mouth.
