28~ Is This The Wedding Of My Dreams?

I walked with Anna behind me, she was my maid of honor. Along with Luica and Tina my bridesmaids. Jacob at Anna's side and other vampires with Lucia and Tina as their partners.

Supposedly everyone agreed with the idea of the groom waiting at the alter. So Darren wasn't at my side.

"May I take my daughter down the altar?" A man around his thirties with brown hair and blue eyes had gestured at his arm for me to hold onto.

"Your my dad?" I asked in disbelief. I probably looked like I was going to cry. I finally met my dad!

"Yes, Candice, I'm your father" the man or rather my father reassured. My blood father!

"I'm glad you could at least come to my wedding, unlike other events in my life" I muttered to him as we intertwined arms. My fingers clutching the boutique of white roses tightly.

"Candice, you know I couldn't because-"

Before he could finish his sentence the music starting playing and a man called our attention to round the corner.

I could see the stars above in the sky like little flecks of glitter. The water running up and out of the board walk. Splashing as if trying to reach me, trying again and again.

Everyone was standing in above their chairs, looking over to see me walking on smooth white carpet under me. A little girl throwing petals that looked as if dipped in a puddle of gold paint. Small spot lights being hang at each corner of the wide looking tent. I could feel small rocks under my feet being covered by the carpet. My heels clicking in a whisper tone. And I smiled at as I reached Darren.

My father giving my hand to Darren as he gave me a peck on the cheek.

"I know" I whispered to him, before he left to sit in an empty seat next to my mother.

I caught the bridesmaids and their partners rounding to their spots near us, at the altar stone-arch (keystone) like setting.

I smiled at Darren as he looked like the happiest guy alive. Smiling widely and blue eyes that looked like they were about to burst with light. I bet nothing could ruin today, just by looking at Darren I was sure myself. I gave Darren a squeeze as our hands were intertwined. I bit down on my lips trying to suppress a smile as everyone was watching us.

The man, who looked like a vampire, stood before us spoke.

"Today we are gathered today to unite Darren Dusk and Candice Carlson into one. One soul, one throne and one life. Does anyone object? Speak now or forever hold your-"

"WE OBJECT!"

My throat went dry. My heart must have been taken out of my body, then and there. And my head went spinning in circles.

Did I just hear wrong? Who would say something like that at someone's wedding?

My head whipped behind me just like the others there.

Only to see...

Damien??

And... Tori?

What the hell was going on with them? Were they working together?

"Guards! Escort them away from here! NOW!" Darren's voice no longer held glee and contempt like his expression earlier.

I could see at least six guards from various corners approach them.

"No!" Damien protested. "Candice!" he called out.

I immediately looked at the front of me. Why was he calling my name? What spot was he trying to put me in?

"Candice I know you can hear me! Candice I know you know I'M SUPPOSE TO BE YOUR MATE!" "Curse you Darren! YOU KNOW YOUR TAKING HER AWAY FROM ME, DARREN!"

I could hear someone's feet being dragged on the carpet as it made me bit the inside of my cheek.

"No, Damen! It's you who is twisted! She isn't your mate! I'm sure you know that because of the birth mark! Plus, it isn't my fault you left throne!" Darren talk loud and clear for everyone in the room to hear.

"Yes, it wa-" Damien couldn't even finish talking as Darren waved to the guards to take him out.

"Darren! I still l-" Tori also was being carried out the door.

Well, she was the pathetic one. Trying to grab Darren back on our wedding day! I could read her mind from behind the door, "I still want him".

Darren took my hand and squeezed it for reassurance. To assure me that nothing and nobody else was going to ruin today.

"Just skip to the speech!" Darren hissed at the man.

He nodded, signaling for Darren to start.

Darren looked contempt again. His hands searching for mine. I stretched a smile for him, waiting to hear the things he was willing to say in front of everyone here today.

"Candice Carlson" Darren started, with a smile.

"You are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. Everyday just seeing you makes me think, wow, I really am lucky to have you by my side. I love you with all my heart and couldn't imagine any other person as my mate, who would be better than you. You complete me. So I Darren Dusk, promise to love and cherish you, for forever" Darren finished, placing the gold wedding ring on my finger, looking at me giving me a boyish smile.

I couldn't help but let a tear fall. I needed to stop and clean it off before my makeup got ruined.

I guess as tradition, Darren pricked his finger with a needle and pressed his bloody finger in the book above his name. Then signed it.

It was my turn to tell the vow. I needed to tell it from the heart.

"Darren Dusk" I took a breath, smiling at him as held my hands.

"To tell the truth at first I thought you were the most annoying and stubborn person I've ever met. BUT... I was wrong. Your the most loving, sweet, thoughtful man and mate, I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know with time. I couldn't think of anyone else who I could live the rest of my life with. And I'm glad you came accross my life, even if you did have to pull me from my dull life" I laughed. "I love you. I promised to love, cherish, and support you till death do us apart" I finished with smile.

I placed the gold wedding ring on Darren's finger. Next, pricking my finger and signing my name.

"I welcome Candice and Darren Dusk into eternal matrimony! You may kiss the bride!" the man shouted.

Darren pulled me close to him, eagerly. Like it was the thing he wanted to do all day. And crashed his warm lips onto my, pulling me into a dip.
