It had been a week since the boys of the Potter family had gone to Hogwarts and almost two weeks since Teddy left for Auror Training. Harry had been very busy with his job at the Ministry of Magic since he was Head Auror. Ginny was doing her best to make Lily feel better since she was sad that both of her brothers were not at home anymore. Ginny knew exactly how Lily felt since she was in the same position as Lily when Ron left to go to Hogwarts with Harry and Hermione.
But Lily missed spending time with her father more than anything else. Since Harry would always tuck her into bed after he got home from work. But lately, he wasn't able to do that since he returned home very late when Lily would be fast asleep and he would leave for work before she could wake up. Lily wasn't the only one missing their 'Daddy Daughter Time' Harry was missing it too.
So after a week of working his butt off Harry finally got a few days off of work. Ginny had made plans with Hermione and Molly to go to Diagon Alley to see George's updated joke shop. Lily was fast asleep in her bed when her father opened her bedroom door. Harry smiled lovingly as he looked at his sleeping daughter. He slowly walked towards her and sat down on the little space that was left on her bed. "Lily?" He whispered softly as he gently patted her head.
Lily mumbled an incoherent reply in her sleep making Harry chuckle and pat her head a little harder "Princess open your eyes" He said a little louder but still very soft. Lily rubbed her eyes and looked at her father. "Daddy?" Lily asked sounding confused. "Yes, Lilypad?" Harry asked Lily as he smoothed her crazy bed hair. Lily gasped and threw her arms around her father. Harry thanked God for having good reflexes as he immediately caught her and hugged her tighter having missed the feeling of her in his arms.
After a few minutes of them embracing each other in comfortable silence, Harry spoke. "Lily, Mummy is not at home today as she went out with Aunty Mione and Grandma. So we have the house all to ourselves!" This made Lily squeal in joy since they could have their much needed 'Daddy Daughter Day'.
After both the Potters had eaten breakfast that Ginny had left for them, they thought about what they could do to spend their time. "Daddy!" Lily gasped as she got an idea. "Yes, Lilypad?" Harry answered. "You can teach me a bit more on how to fly the broom and I can show you the tricks I learned while you were gone!" Lily said as she jumped, unable to contain her excitement. Harry chuckled and nodded. "Can we go to Grandpa and Grandmas' House? since they have a lot of space in their backyard" Lily asked eagerly "Sure sweetie even though I think it's only your grandpa who's home today." Harry said before telling Lily to get ready.
After the both of them got ready to leave Harry held Lily's hand and went towards their fireplace where he took a bit of floo powder before he told Lily to hold onto his hand tighter. Once the both of them were standing in the fireplace Harry threw the powder down as he said: "The Burrow" aloud making them appear at the burrow after a little bit of a ride. Lily stepped out of her grandparent's fireplace and looked around only to see her Grandpa sitting at the dinner reading The Daily Prophet.
"Grandpa!" Lily shouted making Arthur turn around only to see his granddaughter smiling brightly as she held onto his son-in-law's hand. Arthur smiled brightly and opens his arms making Lily drop her father's hand as she ran into her grandfathers' awaiting arms where she was brought into a comforting bear hug. Lily had a special place in everyone's heart especially Arthur's heart since not only was she the youngest in both the Weasley and the Potter family but she also reminded him of Ginny when she was younger.
Harry smiled at the sight before him when he heard someone coming down the stairs. When he turned to look he saw Ron walking down the stairs with his younger son behind him. "Ron!" Harry said as he hugged Ron. "Hey, Harry! I didn't know you were coming over" Ron said sounding surprised. "Yeah, Hermione, Molly and Ginny have gone to Diagon Alley to see George's new shop. Lily and I haven't been able to have and one on one time so I brought her here so that I could teach her a little more on how to fly a broom and she could show me some of the things she learned when I wasn't at home." Harry explained.
"Oh yeah! I haven't been able to have any time with Hugo either so I thought that we could spend some time together" Ron said as he looked at Hugo lovingly. "Hugo is here!?" "Lily is here!?" Both of the cousins chorused once they noticed the other's presence and squealed before they ran towards each other and pulled each other into an embrace as they smiled happily.
Hugo and Lily were of the same age. Hugo was a few months older than Lily, but they were the closest. "Dad can we do whatever they're doing!?" Hugo asked his dad eagerly. "Please!!!" He insisted. "If they don't mind that is" Ron answered, "We don't mind!" Lily answered on behalf of her father. Harry just smiled and nodded his head "But only if I get a hug from my nephew " Harry said cheekily which made Hugo give him a big hug. "And I need a hug from my favourite niece!" Ron said as he pouted making Lily laugh and give her uncle a big hug. "I'm your favourite niece!?" Lily whispered excitedly. "Yes but don't tell that to your cousin sisters" Ron replied as he smiled.
