Harry slowly opened his eyes to let them adjust to the light that was seeping into the room. He turned around to greet his wife, only to be met with an empty bed. That's when Harry heard the shower running and decided to get out of bed as well. He walked into James's room only to see him sprawled out on his bed with his mouth wide open as he snored obnoxiously.
Harry chuckled at his son before deciding that it would be better to let Ginny wake him up, for he didn't want to deal with a grumpy teenager early in the morning. He walked into his second born's room only to see that Albus was giving his ferret some food. "Good morning," said Harry happy that at least one of his children was awake. "Good morning dad" Albus greeted his father with a warm smile before turning his attention back to his ferret. "Be ready by 10:30 alright?" Harry called out as he walked towards his daughter's room. "Alright" Albus replied as he finished getting ready since it was already 9:00 am.
Harry walked into Lily's room only to see her sprawled out on her bed, much like her elder brother, fast asleep. Harry smiled and opened her curtains to let some light into the room. "No daddy those aren't unicorns, they're wackspurts." Lily murmured in her sleep as she turned around in her bed. "She has been spending quite a lot of time with her Aunt Luna lately," Harry thought to himself as he chuckled softly before heading over to her bed and kissing her forehead.
"Wake up Lily-pad" Harry whispered as he gently shook her shoulder. "Mm, five more minutes Daddy " Lily mumbled as she tried to fall asleep again. "Well, I guess you don't want to go to Hogwarts then," Harry said as he smirked knowing what his daughter's reaction would be. Lily's eyes shot open to reveal eyes that were as green as grass filled with excitement. "Hogwarts!!" Lily shouted as she ran into her bathroom to get ready.
"And good morning to you too," Harry said as he walked out of Lily's room."JAMES SIRIUS POTTER IF YOU DON'T COME DOWNSTAIRS THIS MINUTE I WILL MAKE SURE THAT YOU WILL BE GROUNDED FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! AND NO QUIDDITCH EITHER!!" Ginny screamed from the bottom of the stairs when she saw that everyone except her eldest son was ready to leave. "Alright alright calm down woman, I'm here!" James said as he walked down the stairs only to be greeted by his mother's death glare. "Everyone is in the car, come on," Ginny said as she pulled James by his ear out of the house. "Ow, that hurts," said James as he rubbed his now angry red ear in an attempt to dull the pain as his siblings giggled at him. Harry watched with amusement in his eyes. This would never get old.
"Alright now James why don't you go first and then Albus can follow you," said Ginny once they stood in front of the barrier between the muggle world and the wizarding world. James and Albus quickly pushed their trolleys through the barrier and disappeared into it. "Okay, Lily are you ready?" Ginny asked her youngest. "Yes!" Lily exclaimed with a determined look on her face.
"Now you know what to do, just run straight into that wall and don't stop till you've reached the other platform," Harry told Lily as he smiled softly and remembered the time he got onto Platform 9 3/4, having little to no knowledge about the wizarding world. "Yes, yes, I know. I think you're forgetting Daddy that this isn't my first time on Platform 9 3/4." Lily told her father as she failed to hold her smile in.
Harry couldn't stop the smile that crept onto his face as he looked at his daughter, she was just like her mother. "Alright, go on then," Ginny said as she nudged her youngest towards the barrier. Lily ran towards the wall separating her from the wizarding world. She emerged on the other side of the barrier and stared at her surroundings in awe. No matter how many times she had been on the Platform, it never ceased to amaze her.
Hundreds of witches and wizards were either saying goodbye to their families or were greeting their friends. Some were wearing muggle clothes, some were wearing robes and the rest were wearing a mixture of both. Lily could see some of the first years in their robes, ready for the sorting ceremony. The sorting ceremony, Lily wondered as to which house she would be sorted into. James was in Gryffindor and Albus was in Slytherin and Teddy had been in Hufflepuff. Lily couldn't help but feel a little nervous about it. "I see them! I see them! There they are!" James exclaimed, breaking Lily's train of thought. Lily looked towards the place James was pointing at and saw four people rushing towards them. She could recognize that mop of red hair anywhere. Her Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron hugged her parents while her cousins Rose and Hugo hugged her and her brothers.
Just as her uncle and aunt hugged her the clock struck 11. A panicked look made its way onto Ginny's face. "You're all going to be late! Everyone get on the train right now!" Ginny exclaimed as she pushed the children towards the train. "But Teddy isn't here yet!" Lily shouted out. "Oh dear, I will make sure that he writes to you now get on that train!" Ginny said as she kissed her daughter's cheeks.
"Bye, Lily! Bye Al! Bye James!" Harry and Ginny said as their children got onto the train. "Bye Mum! Bye, Dad!" The three siblings chorused. "Don't forget to write every week!" Ginny reminded them as she held her tears back. "We won't!" they said as the train started to move. The whistle of the steam engine drowned out the rest of the noise as the train left the Platform.
Lily and Hugo managed to get a compartment of their own as their siblings left to meet their friends. "Hey, can I sit here?" said Roxanne as she stuck her head inside the compartment. "No," Hugo told his cousin, his eyes filled with mischief. "Well that's sad since I didn't ask you," Roxanne said as she made her way into the compartment and hugged her cousins. "Aren't you going to sit with us?" Lily asked Roxanne after a while when she saw that her cousin was about to leave. "I am so sorry but it's just that I already found a compartment and made new friends, I just wanted to meet you guys," Roxanne said with a sheepish smile on her face. "Hello, is there a free seat?" came a voice from behind Roxanne.
They looked at the compartment door only to see a girl who had black hair and brown eyes looking back at them with a small smile. "Yes, come on in," said Lily with a warm smile. "Alright, I'll take your leave, see you in Hogwarts!" Roxanne said as she left the compartment. "Hello my name is Poppy Langston," said the girl with a smile as she sat down. "Hello! My name is Hugo Weasley and this is my cousin" Hugo said as a smile made its way onto his face. "I'm sorry but I didn't seem to catch your name," said Poppy with an expectant look on her face. "I'm Lily Potter" Lily introduced herself with a small smile. "It's nice to meet you, Lily and Hugo," Poppy said with a bright smile, happy that she had made new friends.
