Chapter VIII

It was a bright and warm June morning. Sun rays made their way into the Potter household filling the house with warmth and light. Ginny yawned and stretched as she woke up and looked to her left only too see Harry's side of the bed empty. Ginny wondered where her husband had gone since he was in bed with her the night before. She got out of bed and headed out of the room before heading downstairs to check the living room, only to find it just as how she left it the night before, not a single thing out of place.

This made Ginny start to panic a little. "Where is he?" Ginny wondered aloud. Suddenly she remembered that it was their daughter's birthday and headed to Lily's room only to find Harry sitting next to Lily's bed as his daughter held his hand in her sleep. Ginny sighed in relief. "You know you are going to scare her when she wakes up and sees you sitting there" Ginny whispered softly since she didn't want to wake Lily up. Harry jumped a little as he hadn't heard Ginny sneak upon him. He looked at his wife and gave her a sad smile. "She is growing up too fast." He whispered as he looked lovingly towards his daughter. "I know" Ginny whispered back feeling a little sad about it.

"Soon she will be going to Hogwarts, she will start dating, actually she won't be dating anyone, she isn't allowed to! then she will graduate and become whatever she wants and then she will get married-"Harry started ranting with tears in his eyes. "Whoa, Woah, Woah, calm down Harry. She isn't even eleven yet! And she will always be our little baby, okay?" Ginny interrupted him before he could make both of them cry. Harry stood up and Ginny pulled him into a comforting and reassuring hug.

"What are you two doing here?" Ginny heard a voice ask her and Harry from behind her. Ginny turned around only to see her two boys standing near the bedroom door with severe bed hair and sleepy eyes."What are the two of you doing here?" Ginny countered the question with another question."Well, we wanted to wish Lily a happy birthday " Albus answered her question. All of them had forgotten to whisper and had woken the birthday girl up.

"What's going on here?" Lily asked groggily ."Happy Birthday, Lily!" All of them chorused which made Lily jump a little due to the amount of noise. But when she understood what they had said she jumped out of bed."I AM ELEVEN YEARS OLD!!" Lily screamed as she jumped and danced around in happiness. "Yes you are Lily," Harry said smiling lovingly and pulling Lily into a hug. Soon the rest of the Potters joined and they were having a family hug in the middle of Lily's bedroom.

Everyone was sitting in the living room when there was a tap on the window. "I'll get it!" Harry said assuming that it would be a letter from the Ministry. Harry opened the window and took the letter from the owl's beak before giving it some water and a galleon. Harry looked at the letter only to see that it wasn't a letter from the Ministry, it was a letter from Hogwarts and it was addressed to Lily. "Lily, there is a letter for you" Harry announced as soon as he walked into the living room. Lily got up from where she was seated and walked towards her father and took the letter from him.

She saw her name on the letter, she turned the letter only to see the red wax seal. Lily's eyes widened before she started jumping up and down."I GOT INTO HOGWARTS! FINALLY!!" Lily screamed as she jumped around while her parents watched her with a smile.

"Hey Lils, I love you and I am really happy for you but please stop screaming! Merlin my ears hurt." James interrupted Lily's little happy dance mid-way."NOT HAPPENING JAMIE!!" Lily said making everyone laugh. Laughter filled the Potter household, making it more lively than it already was.
