Milo places his hands on his temples and turned around in a disappointed and embarrassed manner. Then, Dylan walked over to me.

"I don't think we've met before. My name is Dylan, and you are?" Dylan's green eyes glint while he stared back at me smiling, his ears twitched excitedly. Waiting for a reply.

"I'm Sapphire Moralas."

"Nice to meet you Ms. Moralas. I hope to get closer to you as time passes." Dylan grabs the back of my hand and just as he's about to kiss it Milo steps in.

"That's enough, Dylan. Don't touch what's mine." Milo stood in between us shielding me.

What's mine? Milo's attractive but I just met him. I don't even consider him a friend yet! He's an acquaintance at most!

"Ohoho! What's yours eh? Prove it." Dylan looks at Milo with challenging eyes, smirking.

I could feel the tension in the room; it was getting hard to breathe as the two stood their grounds.

"Alright, guys that's enough!" A loud booming voice yelled behind me.

He was an extremely muscular man, six foot three at most. My guess was that he was the man of the house, Ziron. He too had wolf ears.

"Stop fighting." He walked over to the boys, and they both slowly backed away. Then he turned to me.

"Sapphire, right? My name is Ziron. I hope you don't mind their behaviour." He said, scratching the back of his ears.

"It's alright, I have brothers back home. I'm used to it." I replied sitting down on a chair close by.

"Well, this is my family. My lovely wife, Evette and my boys, Dylan and Milo. Make yourself feel comfortable here."

"Haha, thank you. But I have a question. Will I ever be able to make it out of here?"

"It's not impossible, but it's extremely difficult. It's easy to get lost even after a few minutes of walking." Ziron answered looking out the window from where he stood.

    "So, am I stuck here?"

"Don't worry, Dear. We'll help you." Evette's ears fell slightly.

"But-" Milo objected. Ziron was quick to silence him.

"Sapphire, we need your help. But it's your choice to help us or not."

"What kind of help?" I asked. Milo's ears perked and his eyes widened.

"We've come across some others, and we need you to help communicate. Obviously, we know how to, but it looks ridiculous if we speak to them with these ears. I'm sure they won't take us seriously." Milo sat closer to me.

"But, it's up to you to decide because it's not that easy. You'll have to say here for a few weeks, months even." He laid back with his hands behind his head and closed his eyes.

"It's not a bad idea." I thought back.

"Actually, this is something I've been looking for."

"What you've been looking for?" Milo leaned in closer to me.

"Yeah, the reason I went on this road trip was that I had nothing to do. My life needed a little spice and this was just the trick. I'll help you guys." I smile at them.

"So, you don't mind staying for a while?" Ziron asked.

"As long as you guys take care of me I don't see a problem." I stood up and stretched.

"I'll take care of you," Milo spoke up.

"No, I will. I'll make sure your safe Moralas. Trust me." Dylan stepped in front of Milo.

"Guys! Give her some space, Jesus!" Ziron pushed them back.

"Evette, you'll take good care of me right?" I stared at Evette she understood immediately.

I needed to find a way to stop the men from fighting and she was the next option. Evette was like my mother and treated me well when I first met her. She would be a good person to choose from.

"You bet your bottom dollar I will, honey!" Evette smiled at me.

"I'll make sure you're taken care of." She looked over to the boys who were staring each other down.

"Well, then. It's settled." Ziron looked at Evette, then back at me.

"As I said, make yourself at home. Feel free to wander about but try not to get lost." He handed me a map.

"You can never be too sure. Alright, I'm going to bed. I'm exhausted. I'll see you all tomorrow morning." Ziron started to walk up the stairs.

"You're going to sleep already? It's still really bright out."

"I'm going to take a nap. Evette, can you join me?" Ziron turned his back to look at Evette.

"Yes. Oh right, if you guys are hungry I've already cooked some food. Make sure to help yourselves." Evette followed after Ziron. What a cute couple.

"Well, dibs on the TV." Dylan jumped on the couch and started watching.

"I'll go wandering for a bit," I say pulling out the map.

"I'll come with you. You know, just in case you, get lost." As I walked out the door with the map in hand Milo followed.

As we ventured off into the woods Milo gently grabbed my wrist.

"Something wrong Milo?" I asked turning around, looking back at him. His flushed face burned and his brown and green eye glistened.

"I promise I'll take care of you."
