"Is that the hospital?" Evette pointed at a structure nearby."It might be, hold on." I waited for the GPS to give me instructions.
In 300 meters, destination on the left.
"That's the hospital." I pulled over to the parking lot.
"Are you guys ready?" I looked at the three.
"I'm scared, what if I become deaf after this?" Milo's eyes widened, and I saw his ears twitch.
"Milo, they got this. Don't worry about it."
"I'm nervous, but it's not because of the surgery. I'm going to meet my girlfriend, Lena today." Dylan smiled, I saw his white teeth glint. The fuck? I thought that only happened in tv shows.
"Okay, let's get it then!" We made our way to the entrance and saw the man there.
"Good afternoon! You're here for the surgery right? Follow me." We followed the man into a room with a few doctors.
"These are the specialists. They've worked on people like you, so don't sweat it. You're in good hands."
"If you could follow me, Sapphire." I was led out by a nurse into the waiting room.
It was a long process. About five hours each person. I was growing anxious. What if something goes wrong? What if they do become deaf? I shook my thoughts off. They'll be fine, Sapphire. It's all good. They know what they're doing. I breathed in the air. It had that hospital smell you couldn't describe. Finally, all three walked out. I jumped up.
"How was it?" I looked at them. Bandages were wrapped around their heads where their fluffy ears once were.
"My head hurts. But other than that it went well. They told us to change the bandages once they're soaked." Milo handed me the roll of bandages.
"How about you two? Did everything go well?"
"It was fine, I got to see my girlfriend." Dylan covered his face in embarrassment.
"How was that?" I asked, not really caring but it would be impolite if I didn't say anything.
"We're going on a date this week." He replied.
"Oh, that's nice. Glad you could meet each other."
"Mine went fine as well. I'm just tried from the medicine." Evette nodded at me. I sighed in relief.
"Alright. Is that all? We can go home now, right?"
"Yes, the surgery was done successfully. If anything unusual happens visit us here." The man said his farewell and we walked out of the hospital. Milo whispered in my ear.
"I know who he is." I leaned in and asked.
"Who?" He looked around before answering.
"My uncle."
